A bit late to post just we have been getting into the swing of things the last 3 days ..
Our long awaited gorgeous girl Chloe Jane arrived 3:02pm Boxing Day. 11 Days overdue. 8 Pounds 3 Oz. 19 and half inches long. Shes gorgeous and perfect in every way and we are so in love, we have never been so happy!
Christmas day morning i woke up and had some light pink discharge. Not loads just a little. As the day went on it got brighter pink, heavier and then by the night it was very red fresh bloody stuff and started to feel a bit crampy 10pm. Called the hospital because i was a little worried about the fresh blood and midwife said sounds normal, neck of womb just changing and not to worry.
By 2am boxing day i was getting HUGE PAINFUL cramps in the bottem of my back every 4/5 mins and it hurt so much i couldnt concentrate ..bending over the couch in pain we called the hospital, they told us to go through and be checked. Oh, and also by now the bleeding was very heavy and just dripping out fresh red blood.. but i was having no pain in my tummy or contraction like feelings .. I dont know what i was expecting, but i didnt think it was labour or contractions because it wasnt in my tummy, my back just felt like it was snapping!! ?
At the hospital some horrid midwife checked me over, checked baby, said i was only 1cm, not in labour, cervix was thinning out but nothing happening!! gave me 2 painkillers and sent me home ... i couldnt believe it but i thought well im not in labour then, trusted all was well and i ust had to deal with it (somehow) and was completely shattered so we came home and got into bed for half 4 am ... husband went to sleep as he thought i was not in labour either just having pains
... even i didnt think i was in labour as they said i wasnt ??
But after 4 hours in the bathroom, I was at my total witts end, hanging over the bath, dripping of red blood, feeling like my back was going to break every 3/4 mins, trying to breathe through each one i was counting to 25 slowly and then they started to go away .. but then they came back mins later .. i finally went into the bedroom, made hubby get up and said i couldnt care if i was in labour or not .. i couldnt cope any longer .. the bleeding was shocking and i was frightened something was wrong (as they had said i wasnt in labour so i didnt know what to think)..
Went back through the hospital at half 9am and within 10 mins had been checked, i was 6-7 cm dialated, handed the gas and air pipe, given a diamorphine injection, felt much better and calmer, baby was doing great and paul had been sent to the car to get the hospital bag because baby was coming and i needed my stuff ...
Well, all the pains stayed in my back right up to the massive urge pushing contractions then eventually they moved to my tummy, 2 hours of intense pushing and my gorgeous girl arrived .. 3:02pm.(just before they considered a cut to help her out as she was half in and out for a looong time) . wide awake and alert .. a couple of grazes and very bruised but no tears or stitches .. felt like i had been kicked by a horse the day after but yesterday and today much better ..
Chloe is content and happy and breastfeeding like a trooper bless her .. everything is just brilliant, amazing and perfect ....
