How many times per day, on average, do you hear yourself saying "Gentle!" : or "Gently!" or "Be Careful!" or "No! Get down!" or "Not the Eyes, dear God, not the EYES!!" : or perhaps "Dammit, for the love of GOD stop killing the BABY!!!" :

Or any other variant thereof.....

Just curious....

That's my whole day. "Gentle gentle love love" "OMG don't lay on her" "Nice Nice" "put the knife down!"

Well, that last one hasn't happened yet...yet

Ahh! So THAT'S the secret! Maybe I'll try that tomorrow, after my bp is back down to normal!

LOL on the knife, BJ! That actually did happen here this morning, but thankfully it was only a playdoh knife, otherwise the baby would quite possibly be missing a finger now!

I'm trying to be somewhat philosophical about it. As in "what doesn't kill her will only make her stronger."

Just as long as I put enough emphasis on the "what doesn't kill her" part, maybe we'll all survive this! :

Glad to know I am not alone. I am changing Ella's legal name to “Ohmygodstoptouchingthebabyshe’ssleeping!” because that is all I call her anymore.

He starts literally jumping up and down, his eyes light up and get wide, and he yells "baby crying!" between giggles! whuzzup with that?? Someone please reassure me that I'm not raising a psychopath here! :

I am just popping over from February's DDC, hoping to get an idea of what to expect with a 3YO and a new baby - I think I have found a good thread!

Yep - my daughter now answers to the name "No no no! Put that down!" She has already bonked him on the head with the phone and head-butted him.

Oh my hail, yes. It's so hard to walk the line of allowing her to interact freely with poor Coconut, and curbing some of her more enthusiastic approaches.

I actually blogged about Isabel's seeming sense of schadenfreude today - she laughed in my face when I cried in my last tri (tears shed, incidentally, over how nuts she was making me) and gleeful is definitely the way I'd describe her voice when she says "she's crying" about poor gassy Olivia.

this thread is cracking me up.

ds now says, "careful mommy!" all the time, so i guess i must be saying it to him with some regularity.

The other morning I yelled at my other 2 kids all morning to stop fighting-but they are so interested in fighting with eachother, they arent much interested in messing with the baby.

My 4 yr old was trying to pry the babies eye open last night though, before I caught him.

My 4 yo says, 'let me calm him down' which means he is going to get about 2 inches from his face and BELT out Jingle Bells. That is when he isnt digging his fingers into Simons head or pushing his head against his. I try not to be a neurotic mother about the whole thing, but I think it is impossible. luckily Simon is a nice calm baby that doesnt seem to get upset about anything - unless I am near and he doesnt have a boob in his mouth - then I hear some protests.

oh man, the whole time i've been preggo i've been worried that avi's going to kill her little sister. this thread just confirms my fears, hah!

i just won't ever put the baby down, after all, avi IS the one who's filled her baby doll's mouths with not only yogurt, but poop.

yum
