I am ready to branch out from my usual stuff, like THIS
and start making things like broccoli, and apples (3-D things) and I am not quite sure how to accomplish this. Any suggestions or links greatly appreciated!

did you check out the toys and dolls forum? There is a felt food thread complete with a few 3-d tutorial links.
