so i went and bought a bottle today after the ice crunching revelations... i haven't taken any though because i honestly know nothing about it. is it safe whether i have an iron deficiency or not? i can't imagine how it would hurt, but just wanted to gather some info from my more experienced ddc buddies.

what is it supposed to do?

I don't think it's contraindicated for anything. I can't imagine it would hurt you. If you're worried, ask your midwife? Not sure!! Let us know if you feel a big difference. I've been on the fence about picking some up.

Often alfalfa (what liquid chlorophyll is made from) is said to build a strong bag of waters, in addition to being a great detoxer and nourishing food.

My naturopath did give me a sheet on herbs to stay away from during pregnancy, and alfalfa was listed She said it was because wen the alfalfa grows, it absorbs so much from the soil: good and bad.

I don't know, I think if it's organic, then it should be okay.

I took chlorophyll to raise my iron levels during pregnancy - recommended to me by my midwife, and I'm taking it all through this pregnancy too. It should be safe as it's a plant-source. I can't see how it would be too different from devouring a ton of greens.

Not in your DDC, but wanted to respond!

I've just started having a tablespoon a day because my iron levels were slightly low at the last appt. Hope it helps, hope it's okay!

Does anyone know how long the liquid chlorophyll lasts in the fridge after it is opened?

I've been taking it for a few days, and also Yellow Dock and also lots and lots of orangs, since Vitamin C helps with iron absorption. I started feeling better very quickly, although I'm certainly not "All better now" as far as the shortness of breath is concerned, but it's a definie improvement.
