Baby Sleep

Soo... my baby sleeps all day (well, if someone is holding her). Really, all day. But at night she seems to want to be awake. I started to try to reverse this by keeping her up some during the day. But she is gassy lately (I can't figure out what I'm eating causing this) and so if she is awake she is fussy and then I'd just rather let her sleep.

Do any of your babies do this? What have you done to help?

mine does it, but I have no idea what to do to help it.

Is the day sleep the only time she's being held? Olivia sleeps much better in-arms, so I do most of her day sleep with her curled up in the Boppy, and her night sleep is on me.

Well no she is held at night too. Occasionally she will be put down for a block of sleep, if she tolerates it. She's also held while awake during the day. We use a swing sometimes because right now she hates the sling, and I need my arms sometimes (like changing toddler diapers....).

Oh and during the day she is just starting to tolerate being laid down for naps a little bit.

Is she happily awake at night or fussily awake at night?

I need to read this page for myself, since Olivia has an 8:00-ish witching hour, but does anything here help?

Around 10pm, Anna switches from "Happy baby" to "I need to nurse all the time & don't you dare put me down if I'm still awake (which is always) baby". If we figure out how to help her realize 10pm is bedtime, we'll post our solutions. I'm worried that what will really straighten her out is time & we're doomed to 4-hours of sleep a night for a few months. Which would be fine if we weren't both working.

At least we know our babies are "normal", according to kellymom.
