Baby Fisher is here!!

Baby boy Fisher Knight was born yesterday, 12/29, at 2:31pm. Fast, INTENSE labor, rushed to the hospital, no time for monitoring. I had to hold him in till the midwife got there, which was only 5 minutes, but felt like an eternity. He was born in the caul!!! Totally intact sack, they had to break it.

After posting yesterday, things went from 0 to 60 in about 15 minutes. The whole thing was really intense, much more so than my first, and I found it all to be quite terrifying. I'll write the whole story with pics soon, but right now I'm trying to process the emotion of it. Everything was fine, but I'm just so surprised at how panicked I was... I completely freaked out, although everyone else said I was calm and collected. That's not how I was feeling on the inside.

Anyway, Fisher's adorable and I love him and it's no NOT weird having a boy. He's just so sweet! He nursed immediately, but with a bad latch, so I'm WICKED sore. Still working on getting a good latch and he like to cluster feed from 1 to 2 hours at a time. Sigh.

I can't believe how many babies are here! Congratulations, Mama's. I'm sending my "fast and easy" vibes to all who are waiting. Can't wait to hear about the New Year's Babies! If you go in January, don't forget to tell us, too!!

WELCOME FISHER! And congratulations to you & your whole family!!

Super fast labors are very intense & can be way scary. There are definitely pros & cons to fast births. And my darn nipples hurt terribly after all 3 of my first births, no matter what the baby or I did. But it passes quickly!

Enjoy your babymoon! :

Thanks for all the congrats! I've determined that I have thrush on my nipples, which I had with DD for 10 months. I'm seriously depressed and in agony at this point. My nipples are bight red, spotty, and on FIRE, even when touching my shirt. Nursing is agony. I can't do this again for 10 months. I'm trying to get the triple nipple cream, but of course, it's NYE and everything's closed tonight and tomorrow. I'm praying I can hang on till Thursday, and that the pharmacy can get the stuff and that the stuff works. I can't bear the thought of not breastfeeding, yet I've rarely had a non-painful nursing session in my life.

Anyone know any remedies? Or anything to get some relief till I can get rid of the thrush?

TIA

I have not dealt with thrush personally, so all I know to do is to post this:

Maybe Kellymom has some remedies you can use til you can get ahold of some gentian violet or whatnot.
