Just to give you some personal insight on social bookmarking, I use onlywire, digg, and a few other social promotion sites. At Suite 101, I can track where everyone is coming from. Only about 2% of my hits come from social promotion sites. It really is minimal for me. A vast majority of my hits comes from web searches, primarily google, which is good since more people use search engines as opposed to social bookmarking sites.
However, the upside to social promotion is that the more you get your URL out there, the more it bumps you up on the google ranking, moving your article further up the list of sites. Also, several times I do believe my articles got picked up on a blog whose writer found me on a bookmarking site. I would get plenty of hits through the blog, so indirectly it came from the social bookmarking site.

I've gotten busy with some outside interests and it seems every day we are busy with something. I wish I had time in the day to do everything that I would like.

: Every time I went into the store, "oh did you see the Oprah show about neti pots?" No, I don't watch tv.
