Hi mamas. Still here. I'm feeling really blue, my water is broken but I'm still not having any contractions. I woke up at 3am and couldn't fall back asleep.

aww starry_mama i hope things get moving!

i'm 41 weeks and 4 days, i guess tax refunds aren't good enough to convince a baby to come out. bummer. hey maybe i'll go into labor before midnight and have this kiddo!

Dang Starry! I was really hoping to see a birth announcement from you today.

41 and 1 today. I guess tomorrow I'll go introduce myself to the Jan DDC--but you Dec Ladies are still *my* gals!

Not much else going on other than swollen feet and feeling like poop.....

41 +1 here. Same pattern lastnight. Went to bed slept 1 hours contractions started at 20 mins apart, by 3 they wer 10 mins apart, at 4 they were 8 mins apart and by 6 they were starting to space back out. I'm still having them though. They aren't as painful but somthing is still going on. I think he dropped more to because I seem to be visiting the bathroom much more.

Starry_mama- I thought I would be reading a birth announcment...

I'm here too. I'm only 2 days past my due date but I have been having bad underbelly and back cramps/pain off and on for several days. If it weren't for that I'd be fine waiting awhile but I want this babe to arrive sooner rather than later!! My first two were also late so...guess my babes cook for awhile Thinking of you all! Happy New Year's!

Good morning ladies!

Starry and stellimamo, I am so sorry things are dragging out like this. I cannot imagine how frustrating that must be.

40+3 and nothing, here. I have an OB appointment today that I was really, really hoping I would not have to go to. Ah well.

Happy New Year's Eve! (But it totally doesn't feel like NYE to me.)
Good luck to you all!

Starry - How long are you going to wait for contractions to start? Are you doing anything to help them get going? I hope they come soon for you!!

aw, starry mama, i also hoped i'd see a starry baby is here announcement from you this morning. i'm feeling discouraged, too. it sucks.''

stellimamo -- girl, you are strong! i can't imagine being up all night with contrax for as many nights as you've been. you are amazing. i bet when your sweet one decides it's time, s/he'll fly right on out of you.

ms . b sprout -- i also have an ob appointment today i was hoping i'd miss.

dziejen -- that's how i feel, too, if i weren't having cramps and back pain, i wouldn't be so antsy for this to be over. i've got another week or so of waddling around and hip pain in me, just not so much the weird back pains.

lizzardbits -- my feet are so swollen, too. sorry you're feeling like poop.

mrsrayray -- looks like you've been waiting the longest. you seem so patient in your posts. you totally could have this baby out before midnight, you never know. when ever i think something like, i guess today is out, i start to imagine the birth story starting, " i was just telling dh that i thought a new year's eve baby was out of the question, when my water broke. my baby was here 40 minutes later." you never know . . .

i had bloody mucous thurs, fri and saturday that stopped yesterday, but am having more blood again this morning. more cramps, too. i'm getting contrax, but they're not painful, just like pressure and pulling. maybe that means something. i think i'll let my ob sweet my membranes today, assuming i'm dilated enough. she offered, but i was ambivalent on monday, and i was only a fingertip dilated. if i'm not a centimeter dilated today, i'll be even more discouraged.

i'm off to practice my hypnobabies . . .

Well, my midwives came over this morning. I'm not leaking any fluid anymore, so when hey gave my the ph testy thing, it was negative, which is good, for possible hospital/legal reasons, in case of transfer. They left blue and black cohosh here in case I want them, but as soon as they left, we all went for a walk, and I'm finally having some contractions. And I had some very light pink on my TP just now. So hopefully soon!!!

Good Luck today Starry!

Good luck starry!!!!!

My contractions have continued and are about 10 mins apart now and staying strong. No more show or anything yet. We'll see...

My mom is on her way over to pick dd up because she is making me a bit crazy right now. I think I can only mother one child in labor and thats the baby inside. DD keeps yelling "Elliot be nice to mama. Stop making her tummy hurt." everytime I have a contraction. It was cute the first few times but now I'm getting annoyed by the noise she's making.

Oh good luck to you, Erin!!

FWIW, I definitely think it means something! Even if you're no more dilated today, those ctx are moving things along. And the mucous is fantastic news! I'm green with envy!

Hi everyone,
I'm still here, 41+2. Canceled my induction appointments (2 doses of prostaglandin + cytotec--yuck!) for this week because I feel better trying to get this baby out on my own. Had a second round of acupuncture today, this time with TENS. As soon as she turned on the electrical charge, my abdomen started spasming big time. Kind of exciting. Gonna try to nap, have a walk, build a fire, and drink a wee bit of champagne tonight and have this stubborn little girl!

So is this our last check in on this board?

Aww I wish you guys would stay with us! My DS was born in July 2005 and I still post in the June group that I posted with the entire time I was pg. (not on MDC) ... I couldn't imagine having to go to another one.
Stay!

: How exciting!! : Keep your updates coming!

I AM having a peaceful day today, just as I suspected. Draeksley's 12 days old & I'm home alone with him & his 25 mo brother for the first time today. I am actually enjoying the quiet very much after 2 weeks of crazy loud chaos & zillions of family members. And my 25 mo hasn't had ONE single temper tantrum yet today. Shocking I tell ya.

We're not doing anything special for NYE. In fact, I hope to get us all in bed early. My poor dh has not been getting nearly enough sleep before getting up for work lately.

Y'know, none of you all have to move on the the Jan ddc. I think the main reason folks move on the next ddc is because they want to feel surrounded with others that are still pregnant or hoping for labor asap, not be stuck with a bunch of post partum mamas. You're totally welcome to stay here with us, or start posting over there, or both!

A heaping dose of birthing vibes to all who need them!! : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :

still here 40+3.

i had a major emotional meltdown last night and bawled into DH's chest for an hour. this time it wasnt just the "i'm done with being pg" thing. it was more, i want to hold my baby NOW. and not in my belly. in my arms. i had had a dream and thats all i could think about yesterday. it wasnt anything really specific. just that i birthed my baby (who for some reason was covered in mustard and ketchup ) and i was holding her (it was a girl in the dream) and i woke up and i felt like i should be holding my baby, and i wasnt. little things are getting to me lately.

something new has seemed to happen today though. DS who is 3 still nurses occasionally. and usually, it would take 30+ minutes for me to feel any contractions with him nursing. this morning he crawled into my bed to nurse, and literally, within 1 minute, i was contracting HARD. and they kept going for quite awhile. some of which i truly had to breathe through. during the last 2.5 weeks of prodromal labor i've not felt anything even remotely close to that.
so, is this a sign that my body is nearer to labor? i remember reading that certain hormone changes that precede labor make the body more sensetive to oxytocin. anyone have any insight?
just looking for that little thread of hope to hold on to

i'm actually really ok with having a janurary baby at this point. though, i cant see myself joining a new DDC. i like it here
