Birthmommom! Thank you for helping finish out our spotlight threads in plenty of time for everyone's babies to be born. How has your holiday season been? How are you feeling? What are you doing to prep for your new baby in these last few weeks of pregnancy? What are you looking forward to most about having a new baby, and what are you dreading/worried about/unsure about? What do you do? Tell all!

You're leaving North Carolina, which is what heaven looks like (at least I think so) for Georgia (where, except for a somewhat intoxicated weekend in Atlanta, I've never been). What will you miss about NC, and what are you most looking forward to in GA?

Well it has been nice and kinda sucked. My dh and I work in retail, dh more than me but it was stressful. tI was nice b/c Christmas we just got to rest and enjoy each others company. i am ready however for everyone to go home to their own states and back to work.

Lately, tired. I have a lot of spd pain, and swelling and don't sleep well. i am trying to keep my head up but it is hard some days.

well I have washed all the diapers and clothes. i need to buy a couple of little things still. My mom and sister are supposed. to buy us some diapers, then we should be mostly set. I am trying to train our cat that he cannot sleep in the bassanet, he is a slow learner though. I need to go to a few LLL meetings, sterilize the breast pump, pack my bag, and put the car seat.

Well I am looking forward to meeting my son, and seeing how much of me and how much of my husband he has in him. I am also looking forward to seeing what my dh is like as a dad. I am looking forward to being a mom again. I am also very worried about being a mom again. I place my dd for adoption in April 2007, when she was 3, and have not had a child in my house since, so I am worried a little. She will be 5 in March, so 5 years since i have had a newborn and not sure if I remember.
I am looking forward to breastfeeding this time, but scared b/c I have never done it .
What I am most scared of is dh's mom, I feel like she is going to be smothering, hopefully I am wrong.

What do you do?
I am assistant manager at Stride Rite. I like it for the most part, it his very hard at this stage in pregnancy. I was in the same position with my first pregnancy.
I used to work in daycare and miss it a lot.

Hmm...I have left NC many times, and always come back. I am not really sure what I like about it here.
I am looking forward to owning my own house in GA with dh. I am looking forward to getting to know a new place and hopefully meeting some new moms.

I will miss my bff, she lives here in NC and is due with her 3rd in a week.

What part of GA are you moving to if you don't mind me asking?

Do you have the name picked out?

Do you think you'll stay at home, go back to working retail, or do something different (like go back to daycare) after the baby is a few months old? If you liked working at a daycare I bet you can find a place that will give you a discount on your little one. I used to work at a daycare and we had great discounts for the kids of the teachers.

We are trying to move to the Woodstock/canton GA area. My dh is from Woodstock and his parents and a few friends still live there. he has other friends in Atlanta and Athens, which hopefully will give us a good support system.

They tell us it's a boy, so we have decided on Henry Stephen. I do not like the nickname Hank so hopefully we can get it across that is name is NOT Hank.

I plan on staying home for 3 months, then going back to work PT. I do not really want to do retail. I have been thinking about trying daycare 3 days a week. If I did any kind of retail I may try to go to Whole Foods, or Starbucks. Somewhere that is very family friendly and does PT benefits.
I did not stay home the first time b/c I couldn't, so I am looking forward to 3 months. Heck that is better than 6 weeks.
