Our new baby boys have arrived, at 37weeks 2days gestation! They are healthy, full-term babies and we all got to come home 24 hours after birth!
Baby A is Brock David, 6lb 11.5oz, 19.5 inches Born 12/29/07 at 6:40PM
Baby B is Bryce Thomas, 6lb 15.5oz, 21 inches Born 12/29/07 at 7:07PM
I did get a vaginal delivery, but it was rough. Baby A came out no problems, but B was another story. I had a version (don't ask, it's as bad as you could possibly think), and vaccuum extraction, his heart rate was going down quite a bit and the Dr. had to manually turn him. We were hoping he would drop down breech after A was out, but instead he kinda turned sideways and tried to stick his hands out. The Dr. had to manually push those back in and turn him around to head first. I will say I am SOOO glad my Dr. respected my wishes to not do a c-sec, I"m sure most would have immediatly sectioned me! BTW, I did have an epidural b/c twin B was breech and I had read about this type of thing happening. I am SOOOOO glad I had it, it was bad enough with the epidural! Labor was farily quick once it finally got started. We got to the hospital about 2-ish, they monitored me for a while, then admitted me at 4:05, babies were born right around 7!
And that wasn't the only new addition to our family to make their debut! My brother's wife had been induced both Thursday and Saturday, but made no real cervical change, they couldn't even break her waters, so they decided to do a c-section on her. She had labored over 30 hours with no change at all. They told them it would be about 10 minutes while they prepped everything, but then they came into my room and checked me, I was a 9, so they told them they'd have to wait until the twin mom down the hall delivered (I delivered in the delivery room, but they had to have the OR ready incase of emergency). My brother said "That's my sister!" I jumped in front of him
: Anyway, my first niece Cara made her debut:
Cara Mallory, 8lb 8oz, 21 3/4 inches Born 12/29/07 at 7:50?PM
We ended up sharing a room and we had a ton of visitors. She's still in the hospital but should get to come home today.
I am SOOOO sore, my back still hurts a lot, but I am recovering! Here is a pic of my boys, Brock is on the left, Bryce on the right.
