With DD1 I weighed 303 when I got pregnant and was treated SO horribly by dr's. I was told I could never give birth, my baby would die, I would die, I should abort, etc. I switched dr's, got the same thing. I was so depressed. I started researching options. I just KNEW there had to be a better option. I found out about midwives and natural birth. I had literally never heard of it. I started looking for a midwife. Because I was on medicaid there was only 1 birthing center near me that took that. I went there. They refused to take me because "it would be to hard to tell where your baby is because of the fat". WTF? I wouldn't give up. I found a birthing center with an AWESOME fluffy midwife 3 hours away. Funny, she never had ANY problems finding where the baby was located. I drove there every two weeks, then every week, and gave birth there at exactly 38 weeks. My pregnancy was perfect, my birth was perfect. I never had ANY health problems at all. DD1 was 5lbs 10oz.

DD2 I was 247 when I got pregnant. I gained about 50lbs that pregnancy. I started off at a birth center in Phoenix and hated it. Despite my history they still treated me like I was a walking time bomb. Bull! I found a fabulous homebirth midwife. My pregnancy went by like a breeze (except when I fell and hit my stomach I was worried then... and then at 34 weeks I started having contractions because I had food poisoning, but neither had anything to do with my size), and my birth was perfect (aside from DH popping the blow up tub I wanted to labor in). DD2 was 6lbs 12 oz.

Neither time did I have ANY complications due to my size. Unless you're already prone to something your size will have nothing, NOTHING, to do with your pregnancy. Yeah, it sucked to not *look* pregnant until closer to the end. I would've loved having a nice round belly. But that's not what is important. Don't let ANYONE tell you that you're automatically high risk just because of your weight. They are wrong! Oh, and I'd tell your MIL that as soon as your baby is coming out of HER vagina then, and only then, will she have ANY say in where the birth takes place. So don't give up and don't worry about your weight. If you're healthy then there is no reason to think you won't have a great pregnancy and birth. Just look around for midwives and stay far far away from hospitals.

So I was semi-promoted at work. I am now officially a member of the floor support team. That's a team of reps who walk around and help the newbies to the floor. While I work in the floor support capacity I get a differential. I don't know how much. I'll only be taking calls about 4 days per month now. Yeah! I move my desk today and then start on floor support tomorrow. I'm so excited!

I'm going to update my list soon... really I am. I just haven't been in a posting mood lately. (Despite the novel I just wrote up there)

We're going to be late with the rent. Very late. Like 2 weeks late. We have to pay again on everything to avoid disconnections so we will be about $500 short for rent. It was due on the 1st, but our grace period ends tomorrow. I have no idea what we'll do. We're already 2 months behind on water/trash which is paid to our landlord too. Unfortunately we're in a lease until November so we can't move to somewhere cheaper. Not to mention we have no money to move anyway. No way could we afford first month, last month, and deposit on a new place.

Okay, a couple thankfuls:
1. I'm so thankful for the free trial of WoW. I've been playing for hours everyday and loving it. Now I just have to figure out how to afford to keep playing after the trial is over.
2. I'm thankful my cat knawed on my hand. Because of his bite I was on strong antibiotics. Because I was on the antibiotics I didn't get whooping cough. Yay for me being tasty!
3. Vacation time. My vacation time started over again this month so I once again have time I can use to take off from work and not lose money.

{{{{{hugs to everyone}}}}}
Thank you so much for your encouraging words Congrats on your promotion

Before I left, I made sure that everyone else was awake; I came home, picked up BeanBean and took him to my mom's house to pick up the book I'd left there, and to finish putting some schoolwork assignments together for his teacher. All fine so far. I got home around 2:30/2:45. . . BooBah opened the door when BeanBean rang the bell. "All right, he's upstairs online." No-- mike was *asleep.* The baby was in her pajamas and the same diaper she'd been wearing when I left for the WIC appointment (did I mention that that appointment was at 8:15 in the morning?!?!?) and BooBah was, likewise, in her jammies (less of a surprise-- the greater shock was that she was wearing anything at all aside from underpants ). mike is entirely unresponsive, so I start feeding him and trying to get him to talk. No, he doesn't speak until he's further along than that, says he's not feeling well and goes back to sleep. A few hours later (5:45) he gets up, says, "I only went to sleep because I had a migraine" and proceeds to spend 20 minutes puking.

I'd have a lot more sympathy for him if i didn't know for a fact that the reason he has a migraine has everythign to do with the fact that he chose to go to bed after three despite the fact that I told him his ass was getting up at 7:30. He did *nothing* today-- no laundry, no calling Home Depot, no putting dinner into the crock pot (i took everything out!!!), he didn't even change the baby. So I flipped and he said, "Next time you have a migraine because you stayed up too late, do I get to give you s***?" I said, "Guess what? The last time it happened you didn't get to give me s*** because I STILL TOOK CARE OF BUSINESS!" It's called being a freaking grownup-- you make poor decisions, and you live with the freaking consequences. BeanBean can tell you all about it-- choosing to leave his jacket in the van is choosing to be cold when he gets out of the van. Why the heck can't mike figure this out? OOOOOh i want to strangle him. :

Here's what really gets me: He's gonna get up around ten or eleven and want to get online. I'm gonna laugh in his face. He can do whatever the heck he wants, but if he thinks he's sleeping all day tomorrow, he's got another thing coming.

So Bella's in a diaper and snappi, so her buns can get the fresh air they've needed for a while now and hopefully she doesn't get too rashy (but her skin is so bloody sensitive that I'm not holding my breath). I have no idea what to feed the kids for dinner, I was planning on the crock pot stuff and there wasn't nearly enough time for it to cook when I got home. They need to eat now. I'm not at all hungry. I'm too angry to be hungry.

I know that if I was to tie one or more of the kids in the basement, I'd be arrested, but does that really apply to husbands who are twice your size?
Oh geez!! MEN!! If it makes you feel better, the family I Nannied for had this lovely story to tell me: Basically the Mom wanted to go Christmas shopping and left the 2 year old with Daddy for the day. Nanette pooped *yeah, it happens * and her Dad actually called up Mom and said "Honey, Nanette popped. Can you come back home and change her?" I wont repeat what Mom's reply was

ediesmom stopped by earlier today and brought me two air mattresses! I just got done laying down with the girls to put them to sleep and let me tell you.... it is WAY more comfy than sleeping on the floor! We have all been without beds for close to a year and 1/2 now, and I'm so thankful to have these to sleep on. I nearly fell asleep just laying down with them at 8pm. They are that comfy! And no allergy issues from your doggies either! Thank you! To ediesmom and her daughter. I also loved having someone to chat with too. I only wish I had coffee to offer while you were here! She also brought me a really cute blanket for this new babe too!

My thankfuls today are simple.. I am thankful for this thread and the people here. I am thankful for the kindness of others.

Good thoughts still going out to thismama. I haven't heard any updates yet, and I hope things are okay with her and the babe.
I do love my families. A 4 month old moved out today with his Mom. I carried that baby home from the hospital in my very own arms *his Mom had complications and was unable to carry him in her wheelchair at the time*. I cried. A lot And I made her promise to visit once a month, at least. This is also the baby my DH fell in love with, which started his baby fevor

It is so awesome that ediesmom came by to bring you beds!! I am so jealous of you all who live closer! Is anyone in WV? I doubt it, but I can dream

just wondering if..................

does anyone have an extra 2008 wall calendar? I usually get one randomly for the holiday, but I didn't this year...

thought i would check here before purchasing one
post #226 of 689
ediesmom, we all slept SO WELL last night! Dh said I was out and snoring in less than 2 minutes last night.

They are of course, a novelty to my dd's still so getting them to stop using them as a trampoline is difficult. I think I might have to stand them up behind the climber during the day so they don't get all flattened out by my energetic boing boingers. hehe

I think I do - if you can wait a few days for me to get home to texas and check. I normally have tons of calendars.

Well ladies - DD is still sick. I'm begining to worry - prior to the last month she had thrown up once in 15 months, and now it's a daily occurance for the last 3 weeks. And suddenly she smells like old coffee grounds too - very unlike her. I have no idea what we're going to do on the trip home if she starts throwing up because we only brought one towel, and it'll likely be too cold to wash & change her, etc.

We're mostly giving up here in oklahoma, and looking at heading back to texas somewhere before wednesday. I am hoping we head out tomorrow, as I have the chance to take FPU at a local church, and the welcome session is monday night. Plus I really want to get home and find out what is going on with my father, and the finances, and school.

mama....what are her other symptoms? you had said she had a yeasty bottom rash, now she smells kinda funny....and vomiting. is she losing weight? thirsty? tired?

and i hate to ask

and just looking for info, not alarming

does type 1 diabetes run in the family at all? or other auto-immune diseases?

the yeast, smell, vomiting combo could be connected. could you post other symptoms?if any.

and what is FPU?

My 17 yo dd did the same thing when my baby spit up on her! She called me to come home, and when I finally got there, she had confined the baby to his seat so she wouldn't have to touch him (thank goodness he was content there), thrown a towel over some spit-up on the couch b/c she couldn't bare to look at it, and CUT her shirt off her b/c she couldn't bear to think of any getting in her hair. : Of course, she's never changed a diaper, even pee. I don't see how I'll ever get grandchildren out of that one!

I'm sorry your little one is having a hard time at school. My ds has a lot of anxiety, but has never had a panic attack. I get them though, and they suck.

Dang, I just threw one away. I usually get several, so I'll watch my mail and pm you. If you wait a bit, they drop way down in price, 50% off or more.

s to everyone!!!

I am starting school on Monday! Woohoo! I am on financial aid hold from 6 years ago when I went to school and had a miscarriage(I had messed up a previous quarter before that), so I can't get financial aid until I complete and pass 6 units, but I found a program that paid for my tuiton, and part of the books, now I just need to find a way to get the rest of the money. I need $12 for a parking pass, and about another $100 for the books!! I am sure it'll work out, but I need the books by Monday. LOL Anyone ever manifest $112 in 2 days?

That would be me.

His anxiety actually is way, way worse at home. Not because he is more scared at home, but because he dares to express his feelings at home. At school he bottles it all up inside, and when he gets home he is so tired, so worn out and so full of bad feelings that he very often is scared of EVERYTHING.

Gotta run. Be back later.

just wanted to let u guys know- yesterday was the scariest night of my life. my son alex had a seizure-the doc and paramedics believed it was a fever induced siezure--febrile seizure.

All his blood work and urine sample came back normal.

his temp is down - two nights ago at 2am it was 100. all day yesterday it was 101 when they checked at er- it was 103.7 at 7:03 pm they released him at 9pm and his fever was back to 101. we are keeping a close eye on him tonight if it goes back up we will be back at the hospital.

please send prayers for his fever to break and that he will drink fluids

Well she's has this creeping crud that everyone seems to have had {cough, sore throat, fever, etc.}. She just finished a round of zithromax {never had before} for that - local doc said it was tonsilitis. She is acting fairly okay now, a little crankier than usual but mostly just nausous and throwing up. It's not a constant throw-up, maybe 1-3 times a day? She knows when it's coming - says "uhoh" and then pukes.

She is sleeping a lot though, but we figured that was due to the lost sleep she had while she was so sick 2 weeks ago.

She's teething too - 6 molars coming in. She loses weight at the drop of a hat, but I don't really know how much she's lost this time. Not a ton though. not unusual for her to lose weight - that's why she's on the elecare because of FTT/weight gain issues.

Type 1 diabetes {and type 2} does run in my family. She has horrible food allergies, and colitis, so auto-immune issues probably.

her yeasty rash is almost gone without using yeast meds {we used acadolophis}, and that is good.

edie had one once.....on her 1st birthday it was scary.....but her doc and i were of like mind and just let her go through it. after, her fever broke and whatever she was fighting didn't come to fruition, so I guess it worked

maybe keep an eye for the other things i mentioned. especially thirst and frequent urination. the 'smell' is why I thought' of it....as well as the yeast.

probably just her little body fighting that nasty bug, and trying to return to normal after the zithromax.

i may call the hospital that justmama is at. my heart is screaming at me to let her know we are thinking of her....and if she has needs we will try to meet them

I have severe issues around f'ed up birth stuff, so i don't know if i can do it.

I know we all do what we have to do, and do it pretty darn well....but she was so scared

HUGS I know how scary feberal seizures are. My oldest use to get them all the time. He would spike 105-106 fever really fast. I do not care how many times they tell you they are harmless they are scary. HUGS hope your lo gets better fast.

Sandy have you looked into Celiac's disease? Sounds like with her symptoms that you might need too since diabetes, colitis are a sighn of celiac's. The research now says 1 and 80 kids have it. Just know if she comes back negative it does not mean she does not have it. The testing in the US is really bad.

Congratulations. Talk to your professors. I have had professors let me borrow and extra book when I did not have the $$ to buy them and also check the library. Done that one before. I just kept on checking out the book over and over again.

I have-- for school, even. I was in a very similar situation (only I needed $30 for a bus pass instead of $12 for a parking pass ) about 8 years ago, and the money just magically appeared. So weird, and absolutely brilliant.

I'm absolutely fed up today. I told mike I was fed up. I don't think he believes me. He won't, until I come home with a tarp and bungees and start wrapping the matresses to strap them to the bloody roof rack. I don't have the energy for this, but the words "I CANNOT LIVE LIKE THIS" apparently don't make any impression. I told him I couldn't take this half-assed comittment, he said it wasn't half-assed, and I pointed out that every other day was the DEFINITION of half-assed. He didn't like that much. He's sulky and whiny. Oh well. I'm off to see if the post office is still open.
