Congratulations!

You know, when I found about dc #3 I was just devastated, All I could think about was how in the HELL am I going to be able to afford another baby fcol.
It took me awhile and even the first few days after he was born I was still just kind of overwhelmed with being responsible for all these little people. I have to say though, he is 14 months now and I am still in my babymoon. By this time with my other two I was over that part of things but it's still going strong with him. (Not that I love him more or them less)
I don't know if that's your situation or anything but I know how when you feel like you already have as much if not more than you can handle how another baby seems like a brick over the head.

I don't know why I'm even sharing that. I just know when you're broke...well...
I'm just rambling along here. Sorry.

Daniel's Kitty~

A tentative congratulations - ?

I think I'm in the wrong frame of mind to see babies as anything other than lovely.

/ having been regretting her decision to get sterilized and now with new baby-itch action.......

Hi there. Can I just pop in to vent here please?

Maybe some of you know my situation, husband left, I just finished practical nursing school in Dec, looking for a place to hire me to do my mandatory 120hour internship before I can take my licensing exam and get a job. Only, NO ONE is hiring for internship positions and we have 6 hospitals in my area!!!!!!
The nursing homes are hiring for day shift - I'm in school fulltime to complete my nursing degree to have my RN since it seems the only nurses getting hired anywhere near here are RNs. So, I have to find something on the weekends and there is zilch. Plus we have a time limit it has to be completed by or we are sh*t out of luck for getting our license.
My income is currently only from child support and I get less than even what my rent is per month. Oh, and for the month of Jan I didn't get any child support until Jan 23. So, that was three weeks without a check. Cause the lady that does the child support stuff where my ex works went on a 4 week vacation for the holidays and no one had sent them out. Nice, huh?

Anyhow. Today this is my life:
Perhaps TMI!!!

they shut our water off today. 2 household members on their period, I sick with diarrhea and vomiting, can't flush toilet. Lovely. I have apporx 1/4 roll of toilet paper left. Have no pads, three tampons.
I have no eggs, no bread, no milk, no water. Nothing to feed my kids for dinner, for breakfast, or for lunch tomorrow.
I have no gas in my vehicle to drive anywhere to even try to go to our pitiful little excuse for a county food pantry, Our electric (heat) will be off tomorrow. I've begged and pleaded, cried on the phone to the manager, no luck. Even with keeping our heat on 65 & freezing (even with the plastic on the wondows and all of that), my bill for one month is now $318.00!
Thats the new bill I havent gotten yet, plus my $215.00 I owe that is past due.

We live in the crappiest state in history for social service help. If you are low income, do not move to Kentucky!!!!!!!!!! The funding for help with heating bills has already ran out for the state! They used up 6 million dollars in two weeks this Jan once the program opened.
The food bank is a joke. Candy, koolaid, hard, hard bread, ect.... IF they have anything available.

Here, there is no mercy for turing off the utilities or not, don't pay, get cut off. Our water/garbage/sewer utility allows for one 4 day extension per year. Helpful to the poor, huh?

My STBX has no money. He called his dad to ask to borrow some money and his dad said he doesnt even have $200 to his own name. My mom is crying broke, those are the only two people who would have been able to help with wiring/lending money.

The kicker is that I am due a good amount of money from student loans -which is what was going to keep us surviving. It should have been here by now (last week) - BUT of course, there was a glitch in the schools system and the checks have been delayed. And no, there is no way they can help me out - even with me crying to two seperate managers in the financial aid dept.

STBX asked his boss for an advance, his boss snickered and said "we dont have any money." (?????????????) The guy HAS money!

We've pawned everything of any value last week.
I have no family here in this state, no friend able to help out at all.
Just totally screwed.

My only solution is to quit school and get a job immediately, however that will ROYALLY screw me out of future schooling and make me owe my student loans immediately plus owe the school. And any future schooling would have to be paid out of pocket by me. Plus if I drop out now, it will be a full year from now that I can even apply again for a spot in the RN program.

Oh, and to top it all off, I havent been able to pay rent since November and I have until Friday to come up with over $1000 to pay some of my balance or we get evicted.
And have I mentioned that I have a hostile ex who has an evil wife who both cant stand the fact that they have to pay child support who would jump on ANY opportunity to get a change in custody of the kids? And yeah, having no water, not heat/electric, no food, and nowhere to live would pretty much qualify.

IF my damn student loan check would get here, things would be okay. But they are saying it may be a week before I see the check. Lovely.

Off to have a nervous breakdown now......wake me up when this is all over.
Cause I give up.
so sorry!! I really wish there was something I could do.
Big hugs, don't you love it when people don't worry about getting money to people on time.

I think I will be happier once morning sickness goes away, dh is getting very determined about real estate so that should get better soon. Rentals don't pay much. We did find a place that is running a special on the classes so I could become a realtor too. It wouldn't be easy since I would be doing online classes, but we would be able to have schedules that work together, and we could work from home too.

Kentucky Doula Mom, I wish I had something to offer besides hugs. I'm sorry things are so rought for you right now. Is there any way to transfer to a school closer to your family? Would they help you if you were nearby? I hope your aid check comes in soon.

I'm so sorry. I'll be thinking of you... I know that doesn't help... But I hope just having some positive energy sent your way makes you feel at least a tiny bit better.

KDM ~~ s s s Ohh mama.

It is shameful that in our nation, the wealthiest nation on earth, conditions like this still exist. But of course knowing that doesn't change the real face of poverty, not without some concentrated action. And what real action can we make when all our time is taken up with just trying to survive? Gah.

I'm so, so sorry you're going through that.

ETA ~ Also, even candy and white bread is better than going hungry....... that is to say ~ don't feel bad feeding your family crap food if the only food they can get is crap food, because when it really comes down to it, food is food.

I would call Catholic Charities since they help out in situations like these and may be able to help out with money for you for rent etc.

quick post (am at work) ~~

had to go to the E.R. this morning, my throat swelled mostly shut and I had an asthma attack on top ... they gave me tons of antihistimines and cortizone, along with asthma meds... the asthma meds didn't help much, the cortizone and anti-hist's brought the swelling down enough that I could swallow, breathe, talk .... really scary, I don't know what brought this on.

I was the only one in the E.R. when I showed up ... by the time I left every bed was full and every seat in the waiting room was full, many of the people with the same or similar symptoms as myself :

Good luck with the citizenship issue... one of my friends just became an American citizen, and she had to jump through so many hoops.

Thanks, I'm feeling a bit better but extremely tired from all the meds they gave me...
