Maybe this is the nesting hitting me but this is out of control ladies. I bust my chaps to keep the house up and Hurricane Nick DESTROYS all work that is done in a matter of minutes. I had the closet and room spotless before we went out of town for almost three weeks within three days this is how it looks
Notice it is NONE of my crap. I still have my bag packed because I can't get into my dresser to refile the clothes that I CAN wear now:

Closet one side, the other is just as bad, I gave the whole thing up to him monthes ago because of this.

I hope that when we paint this week it will help him wnat to keep it cleaner:

I can totally relate, my DH is the same way. He is out of town every other week and when he gets home he just throws his clothes around and the suitcases sit right where he left them when he came in until he leaves again. Sometimes I feel like this is just another "hotel" for him to stay in. He leaves in the morning and I just put away the pile of clothes that he left all week in the rocking chair! It makes me crazy!

And then there are the two little boys and their toys.....another story!

Oh heck no! I would defintely be on my DH. In fact I would not say anything, just give him my signature "I am really really pissed right now so fix it" look!!

looks like my dh's closet... thank god we have two. you could just put it all in a bags and put them outside, at least you wouldn't have to look at it!!!

this reminds me of my dh, he likes to come home and take off his coat on one chair and take off his shirt on the other. Then there are socks everywhere.

he gets on me b/c I do laundry and it sits i the dryer, so I guess we are even. But gosh is it super annoying.

I do think maybe we are all more annoyed b/c we are hitting the nesting stage. Good luck...

Oh. My. God. I would be going into fits if my dh destroyed the house like that. Are any of those clean clothes? Any clothes I find laying around on the floor or the railings or the furniture get thrown down the basement stairs (where the laundry is). If dh starts leaving his clothes laying all over the place he gets irritated when they disappear and he has nothing to wear but when it comes down to it he knows that it's the risk he takes for making a mess with the laundry. If it's all dirty that doesn't really work though because he's just happy as a clam to have someone pick up after him. Although, in a situation like yours I'd probably rather just pick it up and have a clean house than have to stare at such huge piles of crap all day.

Good luck getting him on board with keeping things straightened up!! During these last few weeks even the tiniest messes freak me out!

I really can't keep up with it there is no where to put it all because he has cluttered it ALL beyond beliefe. I wish we had two closet cause I could just throw it all in there but we have one and I even gave that up. He as more clothes than I have had in the past 15 years and I am not kidding when I say that

I'd be mad, too. It's so hard to clean when you're the size of a house, you definitely don't need it messed up on you like that!

I am just glad to see that I am not the only one. DH is a slob. And he doesn't see anything wrong with mess, piles, stuff..

I should take pics too.. maybe I will tomorrow! hmmmmm.....

Can't live with him, can't live without him...

DH is a slob here as well. I've been trying to stay on top of the house, but it's so HARD. No energy during the week, etc.

Tonight, he was sweet enough to take over finishing dinner when I just had to stop due to that inexplicable utter complete physical & mental exhaustion that just hits you all of a sudden. So he finished up - which mean putting noodles in the pot, making a stir-fry sauce, and stir-frying the veggies that I had already chopped (tofu was already baked as well).

When I came into the kitchen - which was tidy when I left it to him - DISASTER AREA. Tornado. Earthquake. I don't know how he did it, but he did. (As he says - entropy. It just shows that he's more in touch with the universe.)

So while i was incredibly grateful to him for finishing dinner after he had spent the previous 4 hours making Baby's crib, I wanted to throttle him for the hideous mess. Luckily, I got a second wind and was able to clean the kitchen before I head off to bed - b/c that would have sent me into a fury tomorrow morning.

Looks like there's actually plenty of ROOM, he's just lazy. Could you get away with saying "we have too much stuff, and I want half the closet back. Choose X pants, X shirts, X t-shirts, and the rest is going to Goodwill"? My mate and I did that, and our lives are so much nicer now. He had eleven pairs of pants (thanks, MIL), and only wore four of them. I, uh, may have gotten rid of more than a dozen black t-shirts and not noticed the loss because of the surviving dozen black t-shirts.
