I had my first trip to Utah today! Hadn't ever been...barely knew Utah existed before I joined the Church. I visited a friend in Hurricane by St. George. It was interesting. Also went to Colorado City to buy raw cheese!

Dh and I have been getting back to truly living the Gospel. We were inactive over the summer. It was strange and an interesting journey back. I'm happy though. We are already being abundantly blessed!

That's DD1 today. Do 3 year old girls ever stop talking? I asked her that today, and she said, "I'll stop talking when I go to sleep."

She's making me crazy! I just want 5 minutes of quiet! She's talking my ear off as I type!

Oh I can relate. Maybe we should arrange for a playdate with my 4 yr old and they can talk to each other, LOL. Half the time or more he doesn't even check to see if I'm paying attention. There have been times when I've said, "Okay, I just need you to STOP talking for a few minutes!"

January, I'm so glad you're back living the gospel! I've gone through periods of inactivity as well, so I can definately relate! And living the gospel brings so many blessings to our family as well. We've been active in church our entire married lives, but we haven't always been fully living the gospel. Almost a year ago, we made some huge changes and now we feel like we're getting closer to fully living the gospel. Since then, I've been able to quit my job and we've always been able to pay all our bills. We have just as much money, if not more, as we did when I was working as well.

Do you mean that you're going to (try to) go see it live? I don't think I'd attempt that with kids in a million years. In fact, they may not let kids under 8 in - they don't let them in for Conference.

I am worried enough about tomorrow. My boss and I have a meeting in SLC - just three blocks away from the Conference Center. I have no idea how we're going to get parking, unless the building has private parking and they are able to get us in!

Hey mama, thanks! It's nice to know there's another LDS mama on here who has been there and won't judge. I appreciate you speaking up! Being involved in the Church really does help to keep us grounded, count our blessing and make better choices. I'm happy to hear that things are strong and good for you too.

I'm realizing that teaching the Gospel and living the Gospel are 2 totally different things! Kwim?

January!! i'm so glad to see this. i PMd you and didn't hear back so i was worried maybe i had offended you somehow or something ignore me, i stress about stuff like that a lot.


it's hard to be active in the church for a lot of reasons. i totally feel you!

But if I listened all day, I'd go crazy--and I would have to ignore his brothers.
I try to give him my full attention for a set period of time each day. I don't think he really expects me to always listen. In fact, he was riding with my parents somewhere and they were trying to navigate. He stops mid-sentence and asks, "are you two listening to me?" They both yell back, "NO!" He shrugged and kept on talking.

My 9 year old too! She's a girl. I've found that a couple times per day she needs 90 per cent of my attention, and other times she's just processing her world.

Remember "Languages of Love"? Talking is her language. Her sister is a touch girl.

I showed this to DH and he reminded me that our girls talk in their sleep... so we don't even get that break.
