That really stinks! Hopefully you get a BFP before Saturday. It's never over till the lady in red shows up, right?

I'll be POAS the end of next week. I don't know how I feel about this month. DS has only nursed once (for about 2 minutes) since the week of Christmas, so hopefully that helped. Today I went out to grab some lunch and could smell gasoline as if I was right next to it, then a wave of nausea hit me. I don't think we BD enough, but I guess there's still a chance. We'll see.

!!! I wish I had some answers for you. I know I can get pregnant while nursing, I just have to wait for AF to show up first. LOL, after having 6, you'd think it would be easy here too. DD is only 1 though, and still nurses 8-10 times, I think (I've never counted). So I've thought about limiting her somewhat to help encourage AF to return.

Thanks guys! You are all so supportive! I'm just bummed, I wish I could be a mom that can get a + bfp at 10dpo like other mama's I've seen. I swear I *feel* pg, but I do every month! ttc is so frusterating. If i get my period I think I'm gonna take a month off and relax, take care of my health and emotional needs and just relax!! Getting that . after trying so hard all month long and waiting, is really really gut wretching!

So I had a good cry and talk with dh and I'm just gonna hang in here until Sat when my period is due. Of course I'm totally gonna poas tonight, tomorow and everyday until I get my period or get a bfp!! I guess I waited until I was 4+wks along with Dakota to test, so I don't know how early I can detect hcg in my own body! Um I just really hope this is it. I'm gonna test with an opk later too. I'm wishing the rest of you all tons and tons of baby dust so hopefully SOMEBODY gets a bfp soon!!! Anyone testing this weekend early next week?
I could do a test a week from today, on Tuesday the 15th (assuming I don't get my period on Monday).

And I have to say I laughed out loud when I read your last post about doing the test backward.

As far as your other post about weaning to get pregnant, I can only offer my own opinion as a 38-year-old nursing mother. Feel 100% free to ignore it and do whatever you feel is right! But if I were as young as you, I wouldn't wean just yet. From my perspective as an older woman TTC, you've still got years to get pregnant -- if I were still in my early 20s, I wouldn't give up on nursing #1 just yet. It's such a special relationship.

Of course, you could try to cut back on nursing to just 15 or 20 minutes a day!

Well, keep in mind that on average once a woman gets AF regularly...nursing does not have much affect on fertility any more. Now, I'm not talking about before that first ppaf of course. I'm also not talking about irregular af while nursing. This only applies to regular af schedules. Once a woman gets to that point her body is not as affected by nursing.

I also agree that while the desire for another baby is strong...think about what is best for the LO already here. In the big picture a few months or even a year or so is not that big a deal. I weaned my first LO before he would have weaned himself. I regret it. Literally within 4 months of weaning he developed allergies. My younger ds is now almost 4 and he still has no allergies. I feel it is because I am nursing him longer.
It's hard to wait though.

you've been moved! good luck with catching the eggie!

Since I've got a short luteal phase, my period would start on the 14th, so I don't have a two-week wait! According to FF, I can test on the 15th.

Remember I mentioned how my son woke up one night when DH and I were ready to DTD, and he was so upset that we had to bring him into our bed instead? It turns out that night was the day BEFORE ovulation, probably very fertile, so it was bad timing to miss it. I'm feeling kind of disappointed about it. Maybe we should have gotten up in the middle of the night and snuck into another room. Oh well, this is only TTC cycle #1, so desperate measures aren't called for quite yet.
created a "waiting to know" category for you!

aww sweetie please don't cut your nursing session short. I about weaned ds and the next month i caught the 1st pp eggie!

As for me since I dont have af and i am still waiting for the eggie nothing new to report other than I feel that it should be happening any month now. It came at 18 mo pp with ds that I caught the egg so we will see.
I caught myself looking at winter maternity clearence for when i do get pregnant because I feel like i might need it.
dd was diagnosed with Celiac disease yesterday so things are a little nuts here right now...i might take a break for a few months and play it by ear who knows.....

We are all updated to here!

Oh, golly, I didn't mean for you to create a whole new category just for me. It's very sweet of you, though!

I just meant that "two weeks" isn't accurate for me, as I'm sure it isn't for many women who have a shorter (or longer!) LP. But also, I think that's what they call it over at The One Thread, so I got mixed up.

Feel free to delete the new category and throw me in with the rest of the "waiters," whether we're waiting for a long or a short time!

And for all of us: :

I think taking a month off to relax is a good idea. Of course, that's assuming that you aren't pg this cycle Did I read correctly in your blog that you had a m/c? If so, obviously you know you can conceive while nursing. I'm also 22, and got pregnant the first try the first couple of times (mc, then DD), and I thought for sure it would happen that fast again. I tried for 8 cycles before getting pregnant last March! I know how hard it is, but honestly, even now after 2 m/c in the past year, I will not wean DD before she is ready. I've been thisclose to deciding to wean her, but I know that she still needs to nurse. What if I wean and still can't conceive, or keep miscarrying? Anyway, that's just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth. Do what feels right in your heart.

Guess I could have just said that I agree with Kleine and Nicole

Posting here for the first time . . . I have a 2-year-old DS who was conceived naturally when I was 39, right after my wedding in fact. I got pg while nursing him a lot when he was 13 months old, but that turned out to be an ectopic that ruptured, and caused me to lose part of my left tube and my entire left ovary; the ovary was adhered to the tube through the rupture. Then, amazingly, I got pg again the next month after the surgery. I was the happiest person in the world! That pregnancy, sadly, ended in a m/c due to fetal demise at 8 weeks. I had a d&c at the end of July and haven't gotten pregnant yet. I don't think I o'd for a few cycles, but think I may be O'ing again. Evidently if you have just one ovary it should ovulate each month. I don't use fertility monitors or poas O predictors; I chart cervical mucus according to the Creighton method of NFP. Now I am 42, though, and really really hoping for another child. I think it's possible, considering the two pregnancies in the past year, one with one ovary. I want to get all the info I can and I will try to do what I can (short of interventionist reproductive technologies as I'm a believing Catholic). As for the rest, it's in God's hands.

Best wishes and prayers for all you mamas.

Welcome! Read through this month's thread and some of the previous months. I got lots of good information that way!

AFM, please move me (finally!!) to 2ww. I finally got a temp rise Hooray! I seem to have a step-up (?) slow rise pattern. Could this be because I have low progesterone? I seem to remember reading that prolactin is a result of BF and this suppresses progesterone.

We really didn't have good timing this month. I left to visit my sister on Friday, so we DTD Thursday night. I think I o'd on Sunday. Of course it has to be when I'm out of town Next month, DH found out that he gets to go to Spain on business for about 10 days. With my screwy 2 PP cycles, I have no idea when I'll be Oing next month. So this might be 2 cycles down the drain

I'm really cranky today and snapping at everyone. PMS is in full swing...right on time. AF is due this weekend.

I'm really started to just feel like stopping. I have 2 boys and I should just be happy with that. I'm sick of TTC.

Hi, and welcome! I'm sorry for your losses. The bright side, as it sounds like you know, is that you still sound really fertile. Sounds like your body really wants to be pregnant!

I'm 38, and I also haven't used artificial fertility detectors -- I don't think there's anything wrong with them, but I have a regular enough cycle that I can figure out what's going on by using FAM. Does your method only chart CM? My only thought about that is that as I get older, I have less and less of it, which makes the other fertility signs (for me, especially cervical texture) even more important.

Good luck!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kleine Hexe: We love you!!!! We all obviously know 1st hand how difficult, challenging, disapointing, frusterating, exciting, boring, mechanical, stressful, unhealthy at times, obsessing, upsetting, emotional, freightening, long, short, oh god the list is endless!! Anyone else have any more words to add???!!! Point is this can be the most stressful time and I think it is important to have a place to vent. A place where we all understand what you are going through and can offer you advice, support and ideas. I think it would be nice to take a break, I am considering that myself, but I like to check in to see how we are doing and I think you should consider that! We will miss you! You have been supportive of me and I value your knowledge and experience. Just k now we have all felt that way and it sucks! Your feelings are validated here and your normal to us all! Even when ttc crazies get to other people!

As for me: I'm confused. . due fri or sat, no pms signs whatsoever. bfn yesterday 10dpo feeling really really tired and no typical watery cm. I didn't test today, I'm waiting until my . is late becuase I just can'thandle a - like I thought I could. So we will see, 11dpo I still feel like maybe thi could be it for me!
