that will be fun. Naptime I just part with so I'm hoping one session will allow my body to return to its fertile state. Thanks for all the support!
I hope dropping that session goes easily for you! I used progesterone cream during my last pregnancy. I was considering starting to use it again to lengthen my LP, which, at 12 days long is on the shorter side.
I finally started nightweaning last night (we've been sick, so we've been waiting til we're all better), so when DD woke up at 11 I told her that the milk was sleeping and she could have it when the sun woke up. Uh, no. She was NOT having it! She screamed (literally) "NO it is NOT sleeping! I NEED milk NOW!!" The screaming was accompanied by kicking (the bed) pulling on my shirt, biting my shirt, hitting the bed... She did this for half an hour. Then DH thought he was being helpful when he came in and took her out to the livingroom. He fed her some cereal and by the time he brought her back to bed I was fast asleep and I guess I nursed her back to sleep.
She is so darn strong willed! She used to sleep from about 10 to 6 without nursing. I could totally handle that. Then it switched to 7 -2 then 2 -7/8. I could handle that, too. I canNOT handle her nursing 3 to 4 times a night. I don't know what happened that she started nursing more at night - I wish I could figure it out
I read about people night weaning their kids (who are usually much younger than DD), they tell their DC that the milk is sleeping, the kid rolls over and goes back to sleep. Maybe there's a little bit of fussing or crying, but not like what DD did! I know she is hearing and understanding, she just doesn't want to do it. I'm at a loss.
I think tonight I'll sleep in the other room and DH will deal with DD. Hopefully it will go better for him. The next step is to use an idea from somebody on this thread - get a timer for my lamp and have it turn on at 6 and tell DD that she can nurse when the light turns on. She may like that better than waiting for the sun to come up.
