Nursing Mamas TTC in January!!! - Page 2

Please move me to Waiting to O

I thought I'd O earlier in the cycle, but didn't. I'm hoping for a temp rise tomorrow, but I've been hoping for one for the last two weeks. Currently on CD31.

DH is really getting a workout this month. 3 or 4 false starts so far = lots of BD!
We've done it more this month than the last six months combined!

Hi mamas - I think I am in my first 2WWA. I caught my first egg PP in August and then miscarried at the end of September. We are now trying again.

Waiting to be ready here! I'm still waiting for PPAF!! Any ideas on how to get fertility to return sooner? My DD just turned 1. And I'm new to all of the TTC temping & stuff. I've just been surprised with my pregnancies so far.

Thanks!

Please move me to Waiting to O!!!

AF returned as of Jan 1 and there was a definite temp shift before that, so I FINALLY O'd!!!

Don't know how long my LP was since the actual temp shift was burried in high temps due to fever, DH jacking the thermostat during a cold snap and sleeping in during the holidays.

I'm kind of bummed that I didn't catch the first PP eggie, but TTC will be soooo much easier with a cycle! : Its not all wacky!!!

to you all!!

Hi everyone! I'm still here in the waiting to O category. We just got back from spending 12 days in CA with the in-laws. Not much opportunity for BD'ing.

I'm on CD4 and I think AF is winding down. I'm thinking about trying OPK's for the first time ever. Ds wakes up a zillion times during the night to nurse, so my temps are very unreliable.

Where do you all get your OPK's from? Are there good deals online?
When do you start using them? Sorry for all the questions, but I really don't know much about them!

Good luck to everyone and hopefully January is our month!

Hi ladies! I'm new to posting on Motherhood, but I've been lurking for awhile. I was posting on the ttc 20's thread, but after reading I think this is where I belong! Please put me in the waiting to be ready list.

My story...I'm 26, and my dd is 18 months old and nurses 2x a day. She just recently cut out her daytime session, and only nurses first thing in the a.m. and right before bed. I got af back about 9 months ago. My cycles have been CRAZY ever since, some are 21 days, some close to 30. My LP was super short, but since I started taking B6 it has jumped from 9 days to 11-12 days. Last month FF said I had a 14 day LP, although I think my O date was wrong and it was really 12 days. We have been using NFP to prevent since dd was born, but now I think we are going to stop preventing within the next couple of months. If I'm not pg by April, we will be actively ttc.

I haven't even been temping for the last couple of weeks though, since I'm on break (I'm a teacher) and haven't been getting up/going to bed at normal times. I'm tempted to not start back up again, which will make it easier not to stress about it. I've just been going by cm, which is totally unreliable in my case anyway.

Sorry to ramble on...I am excited to get to know everyone and get on with ttc!

Ok, I couldn't wait, so I just ordered some OPK's on saveontests.com! I still need advise about when to use them.

I just did the math and my last cycle was only 25 days!! They have been averaging about 29-31 days. Should I be worried? I have not been temping this month, just keeping track of BD'ing and CF. oh man.....

Good luck

Interrupted sleep and temping

Do you guys find that interrupted sleep actually effects your waking temperature? Is that why so many women on this thread don't temp?

When we were TTC #1, I was always stressed out if I didn't get those four hours of uninterrupted sleep TCOYF claims you need to get an accurate temp. So I was really worried about it when I started charting again two cycles ago -- even though my son doesn't nurse at night, he still wakes up and needs help getting back to sleep. Or even if he doesn't wake me up, I have to get up and pee!

But despite night-wakings and that my waking time varies by about an hour from day to today, thankfully my temps still hold true and follow the classic pattern. (I use a regular digital thermometer under my tongue.) I wonder if I should be questioning the results, though.

I'm not the best one to answer this, as I've just started to temp again for the last 3 weeks. (First PPAF 12/3)

My temps have been pretty steady. I don't see why you need totally accurate temps - same time, 4 hrs sleep - when you're looking for a thermal shift. As long as your shift is at least a half of a degree and stays up, you'd be able to tell that you've O'd.

I haven't O'd yet and I'm on CD31, so I'm still waiting for the shift. When TTC DD, I also temped same time, 4 hrs + sleep.

Hi Nursing mamas! Yes, I am still waiting to O this month, just finished an AF 1 day ago!

My questions right now are: any safe ways to cleanse while BFing? And, what about safe ways to lengthen the luteal phase? I have been taking vitamin E and B6 for the past 3 months along with increased Vitamin c and minerals and it has made my periods much lighter/more comfortable but it still seems that my luteal phase is a bit short! Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I just checked out that site. That's the best deal I've seen. I'm new to OPKs so I'm sorry I can't answer any questions. I'm sure you'll get good advice here though.

new here! got the baby bug!

Hi! I'm new to the TTC forums and, I guess, technically we're not trying yet but I'll tell you my little tale....
My darling twins are 17 months and still nursing. I have had no period since before they were conceived. We night-weaned about a month ago however they still nurse about 4-5 times a day, so x2 that's pretty much like nursing a newborn!
But since the night-weaning I have started to have some signs of my fertility coming back. We charted using the Creighton method (mucus only) before I got pg. so I am familiar with fertile mucus (is that what EWCM refers to?) The week before Christmas I had fertile mucus for the first time and got a little freaked because we had DTD a couple days before. I had some pg. symptoms about a week later and was going to test but then I had CM again. I think I didn't O and my body is just working up to it. Anyways.... when we thought I might be pg. we got kind of excited so I think we are going to TTC soon. So I guess I am waiting to be ready ?
I'm not going to worry too much about it this month but I am going to start charting and maybe even temping again and also work on slowing the twins down nursing (this was my plan before and not necessarily related to TTC). If nothing by Feb. I think we'll be a little more pro-active about it. I am interested in the Vitex I have read about on this board.
So, sorry so long but I'm glad there's a place to come and dish about mucus!
Oh, and I think I am going to test in a couple days just in case I did catch that 1st pp eggie! I doubt it though, I don't really feel pg. but then again my only experiece with pg. was twins so if I were to carry a singleton I bet I wouldn't even notice it!!!
Can't wait to get to know everyone and share in all the baby excitement!

I actually waited until dd was mostly sleeping thru to start temping. And I'm glad I did. I can really see it on my chart when she goes through a rough sleeping phase from having a cold, or when she was still teething. My temps went nuts- they would vary by .5 degree sometimes. It's very frustrating, and I felt like it really affected whether or not my chart was accurate. But you might find that it doesn't affect yours too much, since everyone is different. I think as long as you take your temp at the same time, and get 3+ hours of sleep beforehand, you'll be okay. Doesn't hurt to try!

I've been taking B6 and it's really helped my LP. I actually O earlier in my cycle than I used to, but my cycles are about the same length, so my LP is longer. How long have you been taking it? What dosage are you taking? I know that Clomid can help short LP's, although I'm sure you don't want to jump right into Clomid w/o trying other things first. There's also progesterone supplements, and they come in suppositories, creams and pills. HTH!

I was inspired by all the TTC madness here to transcribe my old-fashioned paper TCOYF charts to high-tech online FF charts. That's how I wasted my afternoon today! At first I didn't like the idea that a computer was picking my O date, but it seems to have done a pretty good job. Except that I have a prolapsed uterus so my CP is never high, which FF doesn't like, so it gives me a cross-haired O date.

Any BFing mamas using progesterone cream? Any luck with that for someone who hasn't had a PP visit from AF yet? How do you use it? Dose/timing?

Sorry, I don't use it.

I have absolutely no nipple tenderness which is weird for me after O. I always have it during the 2ww and I had during my last pg while I was nursing. So I'm taking this as a sign that this cycle really is a bust.
