sorry for the BFN, Travelgirlz. Sounds like we're in similar emotional states (we just finished try number 5). We soldier on!

Good luck, Frog! Since I"m a timing nut, can I ask if you inseminated at 6:45 last night, when the OPK was positive, or this morning?

We inseminated at 6:45 last night. After consulting with the midwife over this last weekend, we decided to shift everything back by twelve hours because I appear to ovulate closer to the positive OPK than many women. So, the plan for this cycle is our DIY insem immediately upon positive OPK and the IUI ~24 hours after that.

And here's me, sending more vibes your way :

In terms of snacky, for us it was always KD who was peckish after his donations. One one day, after having lounged with my hips in the air for 30 minutes, I emerged from the bedroom to find he had scarfed an entire container of candied cashews.

Sorry to have been MIA but I have been sick off my butt for the past 4 days. Finally gave in and took a day off to get myself better.
I have had this fever for days now.

So this leads to a question... is it even worth it to temp when I am sick (I haven't been) and if you don't temp, what do you put in FF??

I'm sorry, I've been really lurky lately.

frog, : and thanks for sharing the great story about your cousin.

to all those with the negative tests. I don't know if it's any consolation but it took me 5 tries to conceive my son.

still waiting for the big O!

Thanks for the info, Frog! I'm so curious to know how it goes. For selfish reasons, as well, cause we're hoping to do a DIY and an IUI next month, too.

happy two-week-waiting!

Thanks HulaHoop and Jen!

There are times I start to wonder if it will happen at all, then I come here and hear about all of success stories and I know it will. We haven't told but 3 people that we are trying, so sometimes the emotional weight gets really heavy; But I really don't want all of our families calling after every tww to hear the results.

Here we go again!!

travelgirlz, we did the opposite -- everyone knew we were trying to conceived and asked about it CONSTANTLY! so we had to one by one tell people to STOP asking... which for the most part they did... in fact, most don't even know that we switched from my partner to me as the conceptee, and will be in for a surprise when we come out about the pregnancy!

good luck hanging in there. we tried 5 x with my partner and 2 x with me, and had 2 months where we had to skip and 1 1/2 where we chose to...

I sympathize with those of you transitioning from the early phase of ttc. It isn't an easy transition. Somewhere around the 5th try I lost my excitement but I keep going. I tried to keep in mind that it is normal to take up to 12 cycles to get pregnant. Sometimes that helped. (Okay, so it stopped helping when I hit a year of ttc but it was something to hold on to at the time. We skipped some months so we aren't quite over the 12 cycle line yet.) Now I just cling to the belief that it has to happen eventually.

Yona is your name pronounced Yah-nah or Yo (rhyming with no) - nah?

Just always curious about such things...
It is like "Yoda" only with an "n" instead of a "d". Or, a less fun but just as helpful way to describe it is to say that it is really the name "Jonah" only with the Hebrew "Y" instead of the English "J".
Like Yoda without the D! : Love that.

Okay, IUI is complete! Please move me to waiting to know.

The upside: I believe we totally nailed the timing.

The downside: vasovagal response, which sucked beyond belief.

The funny side: This morning's first song on my iPod: REM's Night Swimming.

Frog, sending you lots of positive thoughts...
I had decided up until last night that we were way too early with the insem this time and there was no way I was pregnant. All of a sudden last night, I thought it could be possible, I am 13 DPO, and went and bought a pregnancy test. Now I can't stop looking at it, but I told myself I have to wait. I guess it's good that I am starting to believe it could happen...
I definitley think it's good to believe that it can happen!! Why not??!! I mean...the process is hard enough as it is. A little positive thinking never hurt anyone. As long as you're realistic...and aren't TOO devastated if it doesn't work out...I say go for it!! Be hopefull till you have a reason not to be. Good luck!!!!!

Frog...good luck to you too...fingers crossed for you!!!

Yep, that's me. I spend some time there, but much more here. I tend to get yelled at over there for things like being anti-circ. :

Hooray for positive thought all around! You guys are the best. It's really, really nice to have some other moms to talk to while going through this crazy, queer babymaking process.
