Best time to take antidepressants?

Hi,
For those who take antidepressants, have you found a good time of day to take them? Do you take them in the morning because they would keep you up at night, or at night because they make you drowsy?

I have a prescription sitting on my counter and I keep putting off taking it because I am afraid of being awake all night or drowsy all day. : I have had horrible problems with insomnia in the past and I'm afraid they will start up again.

Some people are affected differently depending when they take it, some are not. Often the doc suggest take it at x time and if that isn't working switch to the opposite. I don't recall if Prozac is more often better morning or evening. The pharmacist should be able to answer your question quickly. It never made a difference for me though.

i generally take mine in the morning (i'm on Celexa) when i was on Zoloft years ago i took it at night originally since it was supposed to make you drowsy but i had a really bad reaction to it and so i don't take anti-depressants at night.

I had to take my zoloft in the evening since I cant take any other med in the morning due to thyroid medication. I did ok that way but I tried to do it around mid day just in case.

I decided to take it this morning....figured it's better to risk being a little groggy than up and wired all night!

MCatLvr--thanks for the link! My nursling is 2 and mostly comfort nurses now, but it is good to know that info for future reference.
