Making your own pail liners?

I've looked a bit on the web, and maybe I'm missing a good site, so I thought I'd ask you folks... Are there any pail liner patterns available? How would you make your own? What materials are best to use, PUL (where do you get that?)? My stepdad thinks vinyl might work (he and my mom are the ones who'd be making them), but I know little about fabrics, so I thought I'd pick your brains....

Thanks in advance!

I use a double layer of PUL. You can buy it at wazoodle.com
I just use a large rectangle, folded in half.

Can vinyl be sewn? I would think the act of sewing it would make it leak. Not to mention it's not really machine washable. I'd go with PUL, although Felted Wool would work perfectly well, and even ripstop nylon should work.

I'd just go for a basic bag... 2 rectangles sewn up the sides.

Hmm, I never thought about sewing vinyl! I really know so little about it - that's why my mom and her hubby are doing it...

Two rectangles, ok! That sounds easy enough. Now do they sell PUL in JoAnn Fabrics? (Sorry, I'm a clueless one on this!!)

You can only get PUL online. Wazoodle or verybaby.com ( I have had much better luck with verybaby)

I have yet to find PUL in a store. I always order it online. (at verybaby.com at that)

oh! can you elaborate on this, please? I am a complete, 100%, utter novice but I want to make a wet bag for on-the-go, big enough to fit maybe 2-3 diapers.

I have a holey wool sweater and I know about felting in theory- I've never actually done it. I'm wondering if I could use it for this?

Another thought: Can one use fleece as a material for a pail liner??

Sure. If it's 100% non-washable wool. It won't work if it's washable, or if it's much of a blend (a small amount of blend is ok though).

Fleece wicks moisture, so with gravity being what it is, the bottom of the pail would probably wind up wet.
