What to put under toddler's easel?

Hi all,

Now that it is cold we brought dd's easel inside and I'd like for her to be able to paint in her playroom which is carpeted. We rent, btw. I was thinking about putting one of those plasticky tablecloths beneath her easel to catch drips... anyone have any other suggestions?

TIA!

I would suggest a cheap area rug - that would stay down well, and just know that it will get messed up and stained, but that you bought it (or freecycled it or goodwilled it) for that purpose.

other ideas - tablecloth or shower curtain. hth

How about one of those dollar store shower liners? You could even throw it in the washer for re-use.

Ikea sells these ones for $1.99

Or door mats.

We use a dollar store vinyl flannel-backed tablecloth.

I'm on the lookout for a canvas dropcloth to protect our floors (we just got an easel as well) - I'm going to the art supply stores in town next week
