I am in SERIOUS need of dipes fast. I got some fuzzi bunz in the mail for free, they just require that i fix all of the elastic, it is completely shot...

Anybody ever fixed it in a FB, any advice is needed.

Thank you sooo much
ANY advice is good advice.

Here is how I recall fixing the FBs. I turned the dipe inside out, and then found the elastic casing. It's held in with a stitch at both ends. I used my seam ripper to pull the casing apart at both ends (just a little) and then threaded new elastic, pulled it tight, stitched it in and then cleaned it up a bit.

Does that help?

I am doing that right now. I turn mine upside down and find the casing stitches and remove them all. Then I remove the thread on the elastic and pull that off. This makes it less bulky and neater and only takes a minute longer. Then I 3 step zigzag down my 3/8 Lastin or knit elastic (I mark where the elastic started and stopped) where the old elastic was. Then I turn and make a casing.

This is a bit more work but makes them leakproof!

have any of you had problems with leaking where the old threads went through the PUL? - specifically when the casing around the elastic is re-sewn?

in taking out the casing seams, i see that there are noticable holes where the thread was. Will washing/drying in Hot water seal this up fine?

Is 100% polyester thread what is used to prevent wicking?

Thanks!

And is braided elastic fine for the diapers? (what is the difference between knit and braided?) thanks!
