Which yarn for soakers

Thread Starter
I want to learn how to knit a diaper soaker for a gift and myself for the future. I'm learning how to knit, but I have no clue about yarn. I would like affordable, soft, durable, and good for nightime. Does such a thing exist? What kind should I get? Where should I get it? There are no craft stores close by here really, so I don't mind buying online. I'd also like all natural - no acrylic blends.

TIA

For the affordability, I liked Cascade 220 (I double-stranded for night time covers). Some mamas really like Knitpicks WOTA as well.
For durability, I love LTK handpainted farm yarn. Gorgeous and super sturdy.
HTH!

Forgot to mention that there is a Peace Fleece coop going on in MDC coops right now until January 8. Peace Fleece has amazing colors and you can feel good about buying and using it! (I think the coop price is 4.50ish/skein --220+yds).

I don't know what any of that means

I'm guessing LTK is LittleTurtleKnits?

Is Cascade 220 a brand? Where would you buy it?

What is WOTA? Where do you buy that one?

Thanks so much for the advice, I'm just so new to this, I don't know the abbreviations.

ETA: What is double stranded? Just knitting with two strands at once?

Sorry!!
Added links and, yes, double-stranded is just knitting two strands at once.

Good luck!

I was just wondering where to find the peace fleece coop. I've looked and looked.

Thanks!

You won't have access to coops yet. I don't remember the requirements... but I think it's 6 months and 100 posts or something along those lines.

I'm going to second Cascade 220 - it's been my favorite for sweaters and such, and a few of my soaker licensees love to use it for their soakers. I used to love Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride (a single-ply wool/mohair blend), but after finding Cascade 220, I don't like to use it much anymore. IMO, the Cascade can't be beat for the price. It also comes in bulky weight, so you wouldn't have to double-strand for a heavyweight cover if you didn't want to.

Oh. Thanks for the info. I missed that somewhere.
