cloth pantiliners

Would you put a barrier layer in them? I have really hard water and the cloth pads that I have with a fleece layer get stinky because of the synthetic fabric. I need to sew up some pantiliners and didn't know if I should add pul to them, or just keep them with bamboo, hemp and flannel. Suggestions are appreciated.

It depends on a few things:
1. what are you using them for? Light period? Bladder dribbles? Everyday freshness?
2. How many absorbent layers do you plan to use?
3. How often do you plan to change?

If you think that you will leak through to your undies if there IS no layer then 1. add more absorbency or add a barrier.

Hope that helps

Presently I am preggo and have lots of discharge, so for now it will be everyday freshness, but later a back up with my sea sponge or Diva cup. 2. How many absorbent layers do you plan to use? I was thinking maybe 3 or 4. What is typical of a pantiliner that is cloth?
3. How often do you plan to change? Currently I am using disposable ones and have to change twice a day. I guess I could just make more and do the same with the cloth.
Thanks for the tips!

Yeah, for that purpose, I wouldn't use any sort of barrier layer. What type of fabric are you using? I think 3 layers of flannel would be plenty, actually.
