For Mamas due in the latter half of January

Thread Starter
Just thought I'd start a little support thread for us here. I'm kind of enjoying reading the birth announcements, and sitting back, not too anxious, feeling like I have a little time. Of course, I'm 37w 4d, so I realize I'm considered term and certainly could deliver tonight, for all I know. But still, I'm kind of enjoying the calm before the storm, KWIM?

Anyone else?

We're due the same day, and I'm feeling much as you are. I don't feel it's going to happen any time soon for me. Maybe I'll feel different in a week or 2 though . But right now, I feel pretty good. Baby is floating high (hasn't dropped). Walking feels fine - good actually. I went into labor with #2 at 38 weeks exactly, but I can't see that happening this time. I'm just enjoying the calm also...

i'm due the 22 or the 24th, depending on who you ask.

walking sucks.
moving sucks.
getting out of bed sucks. LOL

yea, i'm just in horrid pain.

I wish i could go into labor sooooon! LOL!

i'm very anxious. I've also decided to hold off on reading the threads, until i have mine, so i can enjoy their stories, not be 'jealous!' hehe!

me !! I am 37 weeks and 6 days so I do know what you mean....it is nice to hear all the birth stories actually makes me a little anxious. But there is also a part of me that says this baby is not coming yet ...

I'm with you guys. My "due date" isn't until the 29th, and I was 9 days over with my first. I am huge and can't imagine growing for another month, but really I am doubting that I'll be having a baby any time too soon. I wouldn't be shocked to go until February...hopefully not though! It is making it feel a little more possible seeing all the January babies who have already made their appearances though! Trying to be patient...

I'm due between the 23rd and 28th, and I too am in complete denial that the baby could be coming anytime between now and early February. I'm making decisions based on having another few weeks of work...baaad idea, right? DS came on his due date; maybe I'll feel more like giving birth in a couple of weeks

I'm due the 25th, but my babes do tend to come early so not too sure. I am really uncomfortable this pregnancy so anytime after tomorrow (37 weeks) is fine with me . Went 35 weeks with dd1 and 38 with dd2 and am honestly hoping to make it to 38 again so that I can get a bit more done. Took all the decorations down and put together our new co-sleeper yesterday and managed to vaccum today so not too disorganized. Have my bag for postpartum packed, but need to figure out what I need for labour. Hoping for another short one so hopefully won't need more than dh, my doula and my ipod

good to know i'm not the only one in denial.

so, if we don't yet have a car that can fit 3 kids, the baby can't be born, right?

I'm right there with y'all! I'm not quite 37 weeks yet and am due on the 26th. Our Bradley instructor kept reminding us that the national average is that women go one week and one day past their due dates, so I keep thinking I have until the beginning of February.

On the one hand, that sounds really nice. On the other, I can't imagine getting any larger or more uncomfortable.

I'll be full-term on Saturday, technically, which means I could have the baby anywhere between two days and 5 weeks from now. Either extreme is scary!

I'm due the 26th but both my husband and I are guessing it will be the 31st. (His brother's b-day.)

I'm SO not ready. Not a single stitch of clothing has been washed...not a single item has been prepared in the "baby room." (that it's not even going to use for a long time, haha) still no carseat, still haven't gotten my birthkit together...

And as long as this baby is still laying sideways I don't give a flying fig. It can't come even if it wants to.

I'm in!
Still, I'm happy we're finally on the January page of the calendar, and I wouldn't mind going an eensy weensy bit early! It's my first, so I can't judge based on any previous ones.
I'm hardly baby-ready. I have diapers and wipes. And onesies. What else do crunchy mama's need?
Co-sleeper, sling-baby, exclusively breastfeeding...
The birth kit's on the way and I need some receiving blankets. I think that's it...

I am the due the 25th and feel like I have a while to wait yet. I can still get around and feel pretty good and I really hope this baby waits till after my Mother's Blessing on the 12th. We'll see.

Well I'm due on the 29th, but since this is my first technically I could go up until february I guess, but I prefer not to. I will be considered full term by sunday so that is good. KJ has not dropped yet, but the fact that she is up in my ribs is not a good feel at all, and it is all day long. I am so uncomfortable at work I can barely sit at my desk. Oy!!!

I am somewhat prepared I guess in that I have a cradle and a carseat and clothes given to me by best friend and her brother. But the baby shower won't be until the 20th, can you believe it. (It is being planned by my best friend and sister) but I understand because my sister is also planning her wedding too so I am being patient.

geez, i've stopped keeping track of how far along i am. let me think. hmm... 37w3d. just behind a few of you. same as seaturtle, i think.

labor feels ages away. lots of BH, but nothing really exciting. baby dropped a few weeks ago, but rose back up again, and is still higher than any of my other boys were at any time in my prior pregnancies. i have mild sciatica in one thigh, but other than that (and being tired), i really can't complain. keeping fit, thinking positively...

i'm not ready in the logistical sense, and the holidays have really kept me from focusing mentally/spiritually on the baby, so i look forward to taking the next few weeks (i hope!) to really get ready.

do you think that there will still be a spirit of excitement on this board by the time we get around to having our babies?

I'm due on the 30th, but I reeeaaally feel like she'll be here before that because I can really feel my body getting ready. She dropped hard last Friday at 11:50am - same way and week (but one day earlier) than dd1 dropped, and every other 'symptom' has happened at the exact same week as with dd1, too. My guess is around the 18th. With dd1, her due date was 9/25 and I guessed 9/11 from the beginning - she came on the 11th. We'll see if I'm right again. I am totally ok with being wrong, though.

I'm due 25 or 30th depending on who you ask. My intuition tells me she will be right on time, so we'll see. She's definately floating high but I'm really hoping she drops soon so my ribs/chest is more comfortable. I'm already in the bathroom all the time, so not much should change there, HA! I squat a lot and keep hoping one of these times I'll pop up from a squat and she'll stay down

I got most everything done that I need to during our Christmas vacation, since it was easier to do with all our boys gone! We did buy our carseat yesterday, that's the last big thing! Now just the long wait (or short?) until baby comes!

Ditto on the above and I can barely hold my 2 yr old without wanting to cry.. the pain is intense and he wants to sit smack in the middle of my belly and can't... UGH..

Anytime after next weekend is fine by me.
