Oh, I need this in a BIG way. I am so unmotivated lately.

Today's Goal: Finish Pathology unit.

I'm on a roll this term! so far I have completed TWO assignments early. Usually I'm the one looking at 11:58pm and a midnight deadline, LOL. I turned one in yesterday (due today) and another in today (due tomorrow) and I'll have more finished early this weekend.

I NEED to keep up on everything b/c of the craptastic drama in my life right now. But drama is motivation, right? I mean walking across that stage in May with HIGH honors *knowing* what was thrown at me this year will mean something, right?

Yay for you MamaChel! You're right, walking across that stage after the year you have had will mean so much. Sure other people might not know what you went through to get there but your family, and most importantly you, will know the journey you took. BTW, how is everyone doing in your family health-wise?

Today I got past the initial shock of my assignment load and dove in head-first. I am enjoying my readings on Buddhism - I have about 60 pages down and 140 to go before tomorrow evening at 5pm, I should be set. At one point I need to create a study sheet for my statistics final which is on Friday - it is open book/open note so I should be OK.

Ugh. I am in the middle of revising my final paper for my masters program. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, it just seems so far away right now!

Today's goal is to make minor corrections and work on adding more info to the literature review.

I've completed a week and a half of my first semester back (full-time) in 7 years. I too almost forgot to take a paper and pen to my first class.

And WHY am I online when I really need to be studying? This seems vaguely familiar. "Hello, this is 1996 and IRC calling you!"

hey mamas,

I want in too! I just started my second term of grad school. i go full-time and I'm in the MSW program (any other social workers out there?) and wouldn't you know it my DS is teething, I caught a bad cold, and we moved the weekend before school started and DS is having a really hard time with the move.

but besides all that...I am actually excited about my classes this term. I have my books and printed off the articles I needed to read for the next few weeks. But I can't seem to get myself to do any of the reading. I feel so tired and unmotivated! I guess I just needed like another month off to recover from last term. But that's not gonna happen, so I need to just do jump back in..feeling overwhelmed already and just staring at this pile of books here...

I'm a week into class. I want a 4.0 this semester, because I haven't done it since I've been at university level. So much drama I'm allowing to take over.

I've decided to let my after work time be my study time, no matter how tired I am, because no one is awake.

I totally hear you on this. It is absolutely the HARDEST thing for me to do. I KNOW i just need to dive in.

Today I am really proud of myself. I actually STARTED two projects that are due in the next couple of weeks. That feels like such a relief. Now this weekend I will be given most of the day Saturday to read and do other stuff. It is amazing how wonderful I feel now that I have actually accomplished something ahead of time rather than at the last minute!

My first day of classes was today. I am full time with four classes. I have three of them on m,w,f mornings and one only meets monday nights.
I think this semester is going to be so much better than last. My teachers all seem really cool, and i'm ready to get the ball rollin. Still haven't recieved all my books yet (even though i paid extra last week to have them shipped quicklly). At least we didn' t need them today.
My goal is a 3.5 or higher, last semester i had a 3.0 and i want to bring it up.
I can't believe some of you have been in class already for so long. We got a lilttle over a month off, it was definitely needed. Good Luck with the semester everyone.

I am going to go nuts if I have to fight my way through one more piece of red tape. As if returning to school after 8 years and three kids isn't hard enough, I learn that the various administrations are just as ridiculous as they were then!

I'm desperately trying to get 24 credits done before June 15th. And my administration is being oh-so-helpful about not wanting me to overdue it, so they won't 'let' tax myself too much and register for 18 credits. THANKS A LOT! So now, I have to go to the extra effort of registering and enrolling at another university for that stupid 3 credits. Thanks for saving my from myself! I sure appreciate it!

Seriously. When I did undergrad in the States, I took (with a dean's permission), semesters with both 21 and 22 credits. Now, they're telling me that more than 15 credits of ONE HUNDRED LEVEL COURSES is going to be too tough. Because, you know that Drama 102 is just totally going to push me over the edge.

This rant has been brought to you by one very frustrated mama who was counting on an August transcript deadline which was just switched to June 15th.

(But I am keeping up with my courses so far!)

Hi Mamas!
So.....yeah. I'm having a really difficult time hanging out at MDC because I'm so busy everywhere else. Which I guess is a good thing. School is going alright. I don't like the quarter system.....too fast, not long enough breaks.

Other than that, I'm taking a statistics class that is supposed to be the second part of a two-part sequence. And it is a better class than the first, but the profs didn't talk to each other so this prof has expectations of us that we can't fulfill! And....we are learning another stats program...I like it so I guess I shouldn't complain. I just feel like the quant side of things is a little wacked. My theory class is awesome. I had to facilitate discussion on the second week because I was sitting in the wrong spot on the first week. But I think it went well - this was my first time facilitating class discussion in a grad seminar so I was grateful that my partner had already done his MA and had some experience. I think we did alright- it was definitely a learning experience.

Anyway.....wanted to pop in. hope everyone is well! tomorrow is my older daughters' joint b-day party and then sunday is completely booked for a training I'm doing. That means my homework time is little to none. But we'll manage.

I think we student mamas must be more efficient at studying and we're more motivated anyway. Right??!!

Tomorrow I have booked Daddy and DS time for at least 4 hours to do homework. And then after I have accomplished oh-so-much, I will be attending a wine party in the city. What a lovely reward!

Red tape is probably the most frustrating aspect of college life. I swear I have faxed my school the same paperwork 3 times, because they don't believe I gave birth to twins and now have a family of 4 instead of 2. So now they want to see all this crap before they will award my financial aid.

The next time they ask for some paperwork, I am going to fax my birthing pictures and see how quickly that will get them on the ball..

Yuck - red tape yuck. The favorite part of my job when I worked for a CC was to help the students get through it. You really need a class in how to navigate the bureaucracy.

This has been a lessthan stellar week on my end. I procrastinated on some homework b/c I am getting sick(er) and stupidly chose to sleep instead. Now I'm not *quite* behind but I'm not where I need to be either.

It will all get done between today and tomorrow. I have more research questions due this week, my journal, a problem identification paper, one article review, and 2 interviews to at least be scheduled by Tuesday.

Yea, but had you not slept, you'd be sicker! Its a no-win and sleeping is generally the best idea! You'll get it done, hang in there!
