I am so excited to join this forum and share this exciting time with all of you. I have been lurking for a little while-- I thought I knew I was pregnant-- this morning I finally took the hpt and it was positive!!!! I am due in mid september.

Right now we are living in Quito, Ecuador. My DH is from here and we had decided to live down here (take a little sabatical) before moving back and settling in Davis, CA. We had a MC last May and I have been wanting to be pregnant ever since but my DH got scared a little and wanted everything to be "perfect" before we concieved again. We almost made it. We will be back in the states at the end of January. We don't have jobs lined up yet. I am a little worried about insurance -- but I know everything will be OK.

We have a DS who will be 3 in one week. It is wonderful to meet all of you!!

Congrats! I'm in an international marriage too. How long did you get to spend in Ecuador and how cool of an experience is that? Do you raise your DS / will you raise new baby bilingual? We've agreed to raise our children bilingual Danish/English. Sorry for being nosy!

Welcome and felicidades!!

My father is an OB-GYN in Davis—how's that for a small world...

Good luck with the pregnancy, and here's hoping we'll cross paths again in this DDC.

Yes our son is bilingual-- his papi has been speaking to him in Spanish since he was born and me in English. We plan to do the same with our new little one.

I'm in New Mexico, so no, my birth won't be free! And besides, dad and I have very, um, different ideas about "managing" labor. He's of the pro-epidural generation. He's pretty upset that we are thinking about a homebirth...

I do get free info and advice about pregnancy, though, which I proudly take full advantage of!!

sorry, this is OT and I don't want to hijack the thread...

Our daughter spoke Spanish until she started daycare. It gradually shifted to English, though... sigh... I'm hoping that we can regain spanish with this new one...!
