Christmas card reuse?

Anyone have any ideas for what I could make out of old Christmas cards?

I've used old cards as tags for gifts and to decorate the top of gift boxes (to hide a store name) so I don't have to wrap them. I have also seen some cute stuff at Christmas bazaars this past season. One was a box with the card decopaged (sp? and even a word?) on the top. Another cute idea was ornaments with the cards. Basically it was the decoration from 2 cards (double sided) cut into a shape and then mounted on a heavier piece of paper in between. Then the clear goup goes on and then glitter around the border. Very cute! I've been tempted to try it myself. Just didn't get to it this year.

Love the ornament idea, Glover Girls. I've made tags too and also made a few small gift boxes using these instructions which turned out cute.

I've done these things too.

We made ornaments with them. We made these . We also made some I cannot find a link for to show you... you cut the front of the card into strips, punch holes in the tops & bottoms of the strips with a paper punch, stack them together then attach them all together with a brass fastener in the holes. You gently bend the stacked strips into a "C" and open them into a ball. I like these because they fold flat again for storage

Good ideas...thanks!

If people sent photos, I put them in the family photo album. If people sent a card that they actually wrote something in, I cut out the writing and the signature and stick that in the photo album too.

What about recycling them into Christmas cards for next year? Just cut out the image on the front and glue to a blank card/folded colored paper. Or make them into Christmas post cards for next year if they weren't written on.

I usually just rip off the front to save for tags for gifts for the next year. I have used some really cute and interesting cards as part of scrapbook layouts also.

my friend says she makes a wreath. If she send the directions I will post them.

When we were little, we took the cards and used them to make little houses and filled them with cookies and gave them as gifts.

This is what I did this year and it worked beautifully. I even saved on postage for the postcards. It also allows you to put your own personal message to each family.
