Timing Help!!

Ladies...we are getting REALLY close to our second attempt!! I'm hoping to get some suggestions from you all as to timing. I've heard so many conflicting things!

Here's the deal: We are using the Clearblue Fertiliy Monitor...got "high" readings for 3 days now. Exactly what we had last month before my "peak" so I'd expect it tomorrow. The days are a bit sooner...started getting a "high" on CD11...last month CD13. Pretty close though. I started using an OPK (also Clearblue) on CD11 also because I was concerned about using the monitor (first morning pee) and getting my "surge" reading a day late. That said...today...CD13 I got a really really close OPK result. I'm staring at it...and making myself go nuts trying to figure out exactly how close it is to +! But...I'd have to say...it's just a TAD lighter than the control line.

Ok...so IF i get a clearer positive tonight...should we go ahead with a try tonight? Or wait till tomorrow morning for my monitor reading? If we DO try tonight..we have another vile for tomorrow...should we do it in the morning 12 hours later...or wait till later...say 24 hours after the first attempt? My CM is awesome this month too!!!

Any suggestions you ladies have would be really appreciated!!!

I have no experience with the monitor, just wanted to leave you some of these guys: :

I'm no expert but what I remember from reading is to wait a bit after the first clear positive. I think they suggested inseminating 18 hours after the first opk + and then again 36 hours later.... but let others correct me since this is from memory !

Thanks guys. The past two months...I clearly ovulated the day following my surge (bbt chart and O cramping told me so) So maybe I'll do 12 after +OPK and 24 after +OPK. I guess I just needed to write it all down here to get my head wrapped around it all.

Most people inseminate 12 hours past +OPK and 24 or 36 hours past +OPK. Personally, I go witht the 12 and 36 hours past +OPK timing because I tend to ovulate(as detected with temp change) 36 to 40 hours past +OPK.

If you get a positive OPK tonight, I'd insem first thing tomorrow morning and then again the next morning.

Are you doing IUI or ICI?

The timing recommendations for IUI are 12 and 36 hours post positive OPK. For ICI, you may want to insem. earlier. I don't know as much about ICI, but I believe it's more important to insem in conjunction with CM. For ICI, I'd probably do the first insem right when you get a positive OPK, and the second 24 hours later.

We are doing ICI with frozen sperm. So...I know the timing is especially important.

I just did a second test for tonight...and no luck...it was just about the same as earlier today. So...back to more waiting tomorrow.

Thanks for all the suggestions though!

JennM1021, let us know how it goes! I'm particularly curious because we're also using frozen sperm and are hoping to do one IUI and one ICI at home next cycle. Also using the monitor and OPKs. I'd love to learn more from your experience.

good luck!

Thanks for checking in hulahoop!!

Well...the monitor and the OPK were dead on! I got my peak Saturday a.m...was actually able to hold my pee for 4 hours (you should have heard me whining about it though!)...and bingo...+OPK!! I thought for sure the timing just couldn't possibly be right using the monitor (that I only got for the convenience of not having the dreaded 4 hour pee hold)...but it worked this time around.

So...we insemd about 6 p.m Saturday night...then again about 10 a.m. Sunday. I'm pretty confident my O happens the day just after my first peak reading...so I think our timing was pretty good. Plus...I had a pretty significant dip in temp that day...and it's on it's way back up today. I don't have a sharp spike...I'm more of a dip on O day...then gradual rise over 2-3 days. So...pretty spot on there. CM has dried up...and now...the dreaded 2ww!!

1DPO and counting. OH GOD...only 1 DPO!!!!! I'll never make it!!! :

Yeah...I think the timing was good...now I can't do anything but wait!

Good luck to you too! Keep us posted. I'd be interested to hear how the Monitor/OPK combo works for you too.

Actually yes! I just discovered it after seeing several people refer to it here. It's been a big help keeping track of everything. It's really an awesome tool! I think I'd be lost without it!

Jenn, can you link to your chart? I'd like to stalk it.

Ok...I tried...hopefully this works.

Stalk away Frog!!!!

There's not too much to stalk just yet...I just started entering data last month. And this month looks a little bumpy, huh? Those crazy holiday hours!!

FF is blocked at work. What the heck?
Jenn, that doesn't take me to your homepage, which you need to set up from FF. My link when I do that looks like this: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/frogblogger

You can choose the bit that's just after the last / mark.
