Publisher's Clearinghouse

I got a packet in the mail today from Publisher's Clearinghouse. Normally, I just immediately recycle junk mail, but we've never gotten the "Ed McMahon" packet before, so I opened it for kicks.

I don't care about the sweepstakes part of it, but their magazine subscriptions seem like really great deals. For example, less than $9.00 for a year of Vegetarian Magazine is really, really inexpensive. I'm considering ordering a few subscriptions through them, but I don't know how legit they are. I also can't find a way to pay the subscription in full, rather than the monthly payments of a dollar or so.

Has anyone here ever ordered through Publisher's Clearinghouse? What was your experience?

I used to order from them. But they gave up on me.

I think once you order the subscription you then deal directly with the magazine company, not the clearinghouse. That's how I used to order my People magazine.
