Daily Check In 1/5/2008

Thread Starter
(I'm not sure if I'm even allowed to start this thread, or if certain people are supposed to start it on certain days.)

Anyway, it's 4am so I noticed there wasn't a thread yet. I've been up since 2:30am with contractions that I can't possibly sleep through, so I'm getting excited! I never took castor oil or anything because of the cramping I had last night. But it looks like things are getting started on their own...

Hopefully these contractions don't die out. I'm 42 weeks and 2 days.

OMG, I hope this is it for you!!!!!!!!!!!!! : :

BTW, anyone can start the check in thread. Whoever is on first anyway.

I'm here, still very pregnant. I didn't wake at all to pee last night which is weird. I should probably be drinking more or something. I really want DH to take some belly pics of me today, this is one ridiculously huge belly.

Good luck, you two. I hope it's baby day for both of you.

Good luck, ladies!! Tons of labor vibes are beaming your way

I'm still here, 41+1 today. Some pink-tinged mucous the past 2 days, and the random contraction.

mrsrayray, I bet this is it!

starry.

42wks. still here.

For you mamas with SPD... holy hell!
I've been 'battling' with it for the last week+, and this morning was just Far too much. My pelvic bone feels completely separated.

I cried while walking to the bathroom after waking up in bed.
Other than that, my body feels pretty good actually.

9hrs of contractions 3 minutes apart, lasting a minute - all evening/night.
I'm officially not having sex with DP again. It seems to create crazycntrx without really 'going anywhere'.

Baby will come on his birthday. When he is ready. Yup.
...Yup... repeat.

Good luck, mrsrayray! I hope this is it for you!!

I'm still here at exactly 41 weeks. No signs of anything yet. Just regular Braxton-hicks. DH and I might try and get things started this weekend, if you know what I mean!

Hmmm, you're making me re-think my idea! That doesn't sound like fun at all!!!

Still here, 42 weeks today. Passed the bpp and afi test this morning, the latter thanks to drinking insane amounts of water since yesterday! And, best of all, my bp was down to within "normal" range for the first time in two weeks! Yay! So I got them off my back for another day.

Incidentally, to anyone pondering the castor oil method: I drank about 200 oz. of water the day I did it and the day after I did it my AFI was much lower than it had been previously, like, almost below 5. So I don't recommend the castor oil if you are in a borderline place with your fluid and you are under pressure from a practitioner to induce. Or at least don't have an appt the next day and drink a TON of water!

Best of luck to you laboring ladies!

Petty Gross rant/whine ahead.

We live by "If its brown, flush it down. If its yellow, let it mellow."

DP woke up this morning. Handled his bathrooming. He didn't flush the toliet apparently.

I woke up a few hours later. There was just toliet paper in the toliet, I thought nothing of it - theres always a little bit of toliet paper, as I pee 30x a day. I peed. Flushed the toliet - didn't want the paper amount to build up, wouldnt want it to over flow or anything.

Went downstairs. DS and I cuddled on the couch and read books. 3rd book in, and water starts pouring on my head. The toliet had been over flowing for 10 minutes.

Theres a crack in our livingroom, so there are 3 buckets catching water just pouring from the ceiling. The light fixture in the dining room completely filled up. There are bowls everywhere.
I've gone through every towel in the house, and am now on blankets and clothes from our dirty clothes pile.
Child is running through the poop/toliet drips giggling.

YAY WATER DAMAGE AND MOLD.

DP called from work - I broke down as I schleped 75lbs of soaking towels into the basement, and dug all of our fans out of storage, being barely able to walk. I made sure not to blame him (though who the hell leaves a giant tumor of poo in a toliet?) - and then he told me "I am disappointed at how careless you were."

Ah. And this is where I have the first glass of wine in my pregnancy.

Enjoy!

(I totally didn't give wine up. I wouldn't have made it. )

:

I am so sorry about your leak!!! That sucks!

Oh My....

Sorry about that Kaftka, wine sounds good though!

I haven't really had time to read all the posts for today...we are a chatty bunch.

I tried out my birthing pool today. In fact, my kids are still in it having a blast swimming in the middle of winter. Let me just say, that this is actually a great wintertime activity when you have to be stuck in the house all day. Of course I feel guilty since we are in the middle of a drought, but hey, I had to test it. And besides, since I also let it mellow when it's yellow, I've been saving water for over 9 months of preggo peeing. Now that's a lot of water.

Anyway, the pool is awesome!!! It only took us about 45 minutes to blow it up and fill it. That was with a few hitches, so I'm sure we'll be faster when the time comes. I have figured out that I'm going to leave the pool blown up, because well why not? Anyway, sorry to be so wordy, I'm just excited. I'll come back and read all the posts, because well I'm curious about the sex talk too! Ciao!

Kat! That totally sucks. Your DP needs a kick in the pants. A couple of weeks ago, we tried to go to see our midwives, and my DH printed out directions. We got almost there (1.5 hours away) before I realized he had mapquested their TOWN, not their actual address. We got totally lost, had no cell phone, etc, so we had to just turn around and go home. I was crying. So what does my DH say? Not I'm sorry, or I effed up, but instead he told me that *I* should have had ESP and KNOWN where their office is. Men can be such a**hats.

Oh god... that's awful. Please let me know if there is anything we can do to help, since we're in town and all. Even if it's just dropping off some sort of food. I'm surrounded by postpartum 'help' and happy to share the bounty while you deal with being enormously pregnant AND having a plumbing disaster.

Awww man, how did you do that?

Everyone in my family totally choked on "taking care of us." After Marley was born.

EVERY ONE.

At one point, I had 10 people over while the kids opened gifts and EVERYONE WAS SITTING DOWN IN ALL THE CHAIRS. (I had a baby less than 12 hours before this. And I was left to stand. The ONLY one left standing.) I almost cried!!!!

No one brought food, meals, NOTHING.

I think my dh's mother is really embarrased that she did nothing. And I hope she is. She should be. I would be.

A friend finally brought me some dinner 2 days ago. (A week and a half aftert he birth.)

I cant figure out why the more kids your have, the less people help you!!! AND I NEED MORE HELP WITH MORE KIDS BTW!!!!! :
