December 2004 it's January2008!!! - Page 3

Wow...this thread had been very active. I'll finish reading through the rest of the posts in a bit. I only made it half way!! When did y'all become so chatty? Perhaps I should sub.

Carrie is doing really well. We met her new ped and we LOVE her!! No freak outs about the delayed vax, at all. Carrie is also in the 5th percentile in weight and 10th I think for height. Doc didn't mind. I explained to her about Carrie's bout with c-diff and all her GI problems.

Carrie recognizes all the colors, though for awhile she had difficulties distinguishing between red and green. All is well now, though. She can count to 20, and recognizes some letters. A couple of months ago she pointed to her towel (which is monogrammed) and exclaimed "Cheerios!" No, not quite. Now she reads all of our names, and maybe a few other words. Her communication skills Blow. My. Mind. I can't believe everything she says, and how she organizes her thoughts. It's crazy. : The boys never did that well.

She just started gymnastics and is a natural. As a former gymnast and coach, I couldn't be more delighted.

I hope everyone is well. I'll try to check in a bit more often. :

Okay, guys, I know this is a LOT of pictures to look at -- 38 -- but if anyone is interested, this is the slideshow that I've worked on all morning, putting together for my friends and family.

I am sharing the whole thing with you because WHO KNOWS when I will ever get around to doing anything else with pictures.

(I am an idiot - look a few posts down for a link that actually works!)

Hey Jenelle,
I want to see your link, but it's not working for me!

Not working for me, either.

Jett had been sleeping well for the last week, since my brother left. Last night was HORRIBLE and I was so frustrated with him. I finally told him no more nursies and went back to my own bed in exhaustion. Shortly thereafter, Jett called for his daddy and when he went in to him, he said he had to pee. DH picked him up, walked a few steps, and......hoark....he puked all over him. After a few more pukings and some cuddling, he registered a temp of 105.3!!! We brought it down with some homeopathy pellets and cool rags. He has been sleeping most of the day with a fever between 101.3 and 102.5. Poor dude....he wanted so badly to go mutton bustin' tonight. But, there's just no way and next week DH is not home. He is so disappointed when he has moments that he feels a little better.

rainy, I hope your DH is coping okay with the loss of his friend.

Jett has been to the dentist twice. Once was a check-up when Jett chipped his two upper central incisors...fell onto the corner of a glass coffee table at our employer's condo in FL. He was 13 months and we wanted him checked out. The appt. went pretty well, but it was only for checking those two teeth.

Last year, he went for a cleaning. It went marvelously well and we have since "played dentist" to get him to let us brush his teeth here at home.

I have no advice on the cavities or extra care. I really wish I could help you with it. All I can offer is my sympathy and some I hope it goes really well for her and isn't traumatic! I think mamasgroovin's advice is really good. There is a HUGE variety in care and gentleness, that's for sure. (And not just with dentists, but also there assistants. I would find a good dentist, then make it known to him that you want the most patient/gentle assistant to work on her. (Speaking from personal, childhood dental asst. memories that are really bad even though I loved my dentist.)

Here we go, I think I figured out what I did differently this time. I have shared these slideshows before with no problem! Ugh.

This one works! Finally... success!

(A lot of buildup for pictures that... aren't that exciting.)

Jenelle-You have a realy good looking family.

Past_VNE-sorry Jett is so sick. I hate it when you loose it with the way they're acting and it turns out they're sick. I hope he feels better soon.

Thansk for the dentists stories I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Jenelle,
I forgot you live in Muncie!!! I'm sure I've told you, probably several times, that I used to live in Albany. (And, rented in Muncie for a few months first while we looked for a house to buy.)

On one hand, I don't miss it a bit...but on the other hand, we had some great friends/neighbors there. They weren't peers, but wonderful folks. And, we could have gotten together, for sure.

Jett's a little bit better today....or at least grumpier. So, he is better enough to be annoyed, but still running a fever and generally sedate. This is typical for him, vomits a few times early on, runs a fever and is sedate, but no other outward signs of illness. He's weird.
