Ready to talk about Easter?

I have just recently been bit by the crafting bug, so I am setting my sights on Easter, and thinking I just might have enough time to pull it off.

I was thinking of doing a knitted/felted Easter basket, some knitted eggs, and sewing a stuffed bunny. All new to me. I am sure I'll come up with more ideas, like a week before Easter.

What are your crafting plans, traditions, etc?

LOL Easter....I have my sights set on Valentines Day and haven't even thought ahead for Easter yet.

Your ideas are neat though...made me think of making Easter Baskets out of plastic canvas.

Our 4th is due at the end of Feb., so no Easter crafting for me this year. We usually just fill baskets with books and candies.

I have been planning on making ds a basket for 2 years, I hope to finally get around to it this year. You wrap rope with fabric similar to a rag rug. Last year I knitted him some eggs and an easter bunny. I am not sure about this year, but I would like to get him involved in crafting a little something for the grandfolks.

Ha! I just started a list last weekend. I am thinking about making my 17mo ds some knitted eggs/balls, knitted animal finger puppets, and a knitted cuddly bunny (Can you tell I am a bit obsessed with knitting right now!?) .

I fell in love with this (http://www.heartstringsfiberarts.com/bunny.shtm) really simple knitted bunny project. Even a beginner knitter can tackle this one.

These (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEsummer03/PATTpuppers.html) finger puppets also look really easy and adorable too.

I've had Easter planning on my mind too. I'd love to find dresses to embroider but not sure where to find something that would work well for this. I've also been thinking about alternatives to plastic eggs.

Oh my gosh, Easter!? I am with Angela, I just started to think about Valentine's Day (and our anniversary & DD's birthday!). I feel like I am hardly recovered from Christmas!

I am looking forward to seeing what you all make though... I am always so impressed with your talents!

Valentine's Day is great, but ds is only three and we really won't do much for it. Besides, I am pretty darn slow. March is much more realistic for m!

I just got my copy of Living Crafts magazine, and there is a cute V-day project in it, using wool roving.

IKWYM Hoopin'. If it was not our anniversary (and the IL's and SIL's!), we would not do anything for it either. DD's b.day is the 9th, and she loves hearts/pink/frilly/valentine's themed stuff, so I try to accomodate her desires

Slsurface, that is one cute bunny!

Pam, I saw really cute felt eggs, but they were stuffed and not hollow. Are you looking for hollow eggs to put stuff in? How about string eggs?

I see there is a Peace Fleece coop and I was eyeing the felted egg kit, but it said it was for intermediate felters, and I've never done needle felting. I will probably just knit eggs.

I am definitely doing the wee bunny from www.weewonderfuls.com

I might not knit a basket since we have about a hundred unused baskets in this house. I guess I'm not a basket person.

This pattern for knit Easter eggs was featured on the Craft magazine blog. They look fairly easy.
