The Kite Runner

I just finished reading it and wanted to see if anyone else has read it....
it changed my worldview quite a bit and really made me understand about Afghanistan, and really any other country that is producing refugees or experiences terrorism, in a new way. It made me really pay much closer attention to what the presidential candidates are saying right now about Pakistan.

And, it just moved me deeply. The irony and guilt that follows the main character is incredible.

It is a lovely book. I think that it's easy to forget, because of the decades of war in Afghanistan that this was once a rich and vibrant country.
