Would you charge a friend for babysitting? - Page 2

if she offered to pay you and she set the amount then take it! she's obviously comfortable paying it and perhaps it makes her feel better about it all. you know, like there's no weirdness and that part of the relationship is business. you have a set rate so there's no way for anyone to feel imposed upon. she's always compensating you for your efforts and you have the option to say no without complications that could arise in refusing to do those favors so many of us get into doing on a regular basis for our friends. sounds like she had a good idea. neat and simple.

if she is paying you now I certainly wouldn't ask her to stop. it soudns liek she counts on you and that is different than just covering a little free time.

i would definitely pay my friend especially if they were covering a shift at work. of course my friends won't take money so I ususally leave a gift card or something.

I'd continue having her pay you the going rate when you have both of the kids.
