Receptive Doctor

We had Morgan's 3 year check up today, this was rescheduled from December when we went in for the check up and ended up in the hospital for 5 days. Today was the day that, after our last visit and it was explained to me that vaxing Morgan with Prevnar would have prevented her illness etc. and that she would see her today for her 3 year check up and that we would vaccinate her today.

I came here and posted and I got the most amazing information and support here and today when we showed up for our visit {that our doctor came in on her day off just for us} I was dreading the moment when I dropped the bomb and said no to vaccinating Morgan. Jenny's jaw dropped as I expected and then I started talking. Talking and talking and talking. I was saying things that Jenny had no idea of, I talked about the levels of aluminum that is in each vaccine and according to our local County Health Nurse who called me because Morgan's disease was a reportable one to the CDC, said that there is the amount of aluminum is equivalent to if my child ate one can of tuna in a month's time. That may all be true...but if you are giving EIGHT vaccinations at one visit that the amount of aluminum has just now gone into an overdose situation. I talked about the study that has been done to show the effects of aluminum due to IV tubing and PTN use on preemies and children with kidney issues etc and the amount that these babies are getting just from the tubing has been fatal in certain cases. AND that there are NO studies at all about the levels of aluminum that we are injecting for each round of vaccinations on our current schedule.

Yes, I talked as you can see and guess what? She's interested, she also said that she's heard other parents voice concern over the aluminum but she really had no idea what they were talking about. She gave me her email address and asked me to send her all the links that I can so she can look at what I'm looking at and see if we can work through this together. Holy crap!

I can't blame her for not knowing everything, how can a person know everything? But I could blame someone if given the resources then ignored and went about things as usual and she just isn't the type of person to do that. She really is interested and I wanted to provide her with the cream of the crop when it comes to links. She will, if she is anything like we are here, do more research on her own and stumble onto the other various sites that we also use here but today I wanted to focus on 'solid' links, from educational institutions, pharmacology, CDC, FDA.

I have saved OMG so many links but I want to make sure that I don't miss something that might be vitally important. Big huge thank yous to everyone that has helped me to learn and utilize the information that I've gotten here.

Good luck, Mama! Please don't be disappointed if she doesn't agree with you. And please post back and let us know how it goes.

Dang, at this point I'm never going to get an email off to her for her to even rebuke. : I started going over the article in this months issue of Mothering, by Dr. Sears and then went off to the FDA website to find links there and then I started reading and I think an hour has gone by and I've got a whopping TWO links in my email.

I was reading this on the Pediatrics website article and I got to the part about aluminum in breastmilk and the amount in infant formulas and the potential risk or yet to be ruled out risk of infants with impaired kidney function and to use caution when giving preemies formula to watch for toxicity. Argh, I swear there is always something to divert me. But there is some really interesting information in that link and a lot to think about concerning vaccinations.

They are saying on one hand to be careful of infant formulas, yet saying that when digested that aluminum is secreted by the body, yet the only cases of toxicity/injury{at least this is where I'm at} they are finding with a 100% link is IV administration of aluminum.

Ummmm WOW! Known to cause harm if administered IV, yet we are using it in our vaccines and like Dr. Sears said in his article, there is nothing at all about aluminum/vaccination research. And no one, other than Dr. Sears has stepped up to ask this question, are you kidding me? Anyone know if this issues article was published anywhere else other than our little corner of the AP world?

Off my rant and back to my search!

There is other aluminum research out there, just not relating to vaccines.

Dr. Sears' doesn't seem to be that worried about aluminum in vaxes since he vaxes his children and has put out a book touting the benefits. Unfortunately, many people are reading his book and taking it for gospel instead of researching themselves. I believe there was a discussion on Dr. Sears' book on MDC a while back. Believe me, don't put all your trust in just one source, regardless of who the source is or how "unbiased" their books are supposed to be (and failing miserably).

:::end of rant:::

The whole ingestion vs. injection thing has been done over here too...you may want to do a search for it...lots of interesting things come up.

As for aluminum, no good studies exist showing:

1) that the known neurotoxin doesn't reach the brain,
2) is not found in the organs, and/or
3) is secreted from the body in a "timely" and harmless manner.

regardless of the manner of introduction (ingestion/injection).
