Ugh, food aversions

So, I can eat apples. That's about it. Anything else I have to force. Yesterday I managed 2 apples, some rice, and 3 soy sausasge links. I don't really have any fat deposits to draw from, and I'm worried. Somebody please reassure me that I'm eating enough to grow a healthy baby!

Everything sounds disgusting lately, but I'm absolutely starving. Everything I ate today was completely forced, though I did manage to fork down a heaping plate of biksemad (um, cubed up potatoes and meat and stuff). I didn't want it at all, but I had to. Ugh, it's so hard!

frontierpsych My SIL had the same issue, she's a long distance runner and basically exercises for a living and is also a nutritionist. She had awful morning sickness and lost weight in the first trimester and she didn't have any to lose either. She said to remember that the actual nutritional needs of the baby are quite small and mostly have to do with vitamins and minerals, not fat stores. You will be fine. SIL ended up delivering a nearly 10 lb girl!

it would be cool to have her input on the showing thread, I'm trying to go against the "eating for two" myth

hehehe, oh yeah, definitely not under the impression that I'm "eating for two", just trying to make sure I'm doing okay at eating for one! It takes a conscious effort because I'd just gotten myself up to about 1200-1400 calories a day when I found out I was pregnant. I'm kinda relying on foods I can pick at like pumpkin seeds and raisins. I did get DH to go to the store and pick up some ginger for me. (I cut and peel a small piece and bite it and keep it between my cheek and gum, kinda like nicorette) that helps some with the morning sickness. Still though, today I threw up half my lunch. I didn't have a lot of morning sickness with my other pregnancies. IIRC I had a little with my second but it went away by 8 weeks or so. I'm hoping that's the case this time as well.
