Amino Acids/Thyroid/Adrenal + ?

I recently borrowed Mood Cure and Diet Cure from the library. It may be me, but I find them hard to follow; although I have bought some of the amino acids and have been taking them.

I'm pretty sure I also have thyroid and or adrenal issues. Her book gives good info on natural methods to help adrenal which I would like to try before thyroid.

I would like to get tested though as I feel like I am driving a train with a blindfold on. The amino acids do seem to be helping somewhat; but I'm stuck in a very stressful situation temporarily living somewhere I hate, with dh having a job with a start up that I hate and constantly trying to find affordable French speaking childcare so I can work on an internship.

Anyone have any suggestions as to things I can get tested for? and where in West LA I can get tested? or where to order tests?

I have low temp, low blood pressure, low energy, fatigue, lots of weight gain that I can't get rid of since 3rd child was born 3 years ago. Lots of mood swings, cry easily.... beating up dh all the time.

Go to an Endrocrinologist, their standards for endocrine testing are more rigid than a general practitioner. It's very important to be treated for the right thing, and thyroid sounds like a true possibility in your case.

This was me after my 2nd child was born. First misdiagnosed w/PPD which made sense. Within a year I had a goiter and finally got my thyroid tested. Of course, that's what was wrong. Doing much better now. Definitely, see an endocrinologist. It's amazing what the thyroid effects when it's out of wack.
Good luck!

This may be a dumb question, but how do you go about finding an endocrinologist? Do you have to be referred by a general doctor?
