Awwwww....
Well, I think it sounds like the real deal! I believe babies do things at their own pace and not according to any schedule- I was sure both of my girls gave me smiles before 6 weeks! Only you as Mama knows for sure!

My DS smiled for real at 4 weeks, it was NOT gas! So it could be.

Sure! We all no babies don't have strict time-lines. I cannot WAIT for the smiles. I've seen some sleep-smiles and they are so F-ING CUTE I can't stand it!

Rayna has had some awake smiles when she is looking right at us but she was only 2.5 weeks and I just didn't think it was possible. But she's done it twice with me and once with DH. And they are different than the sleep smiles, much bigger and brighter and her eyes "smile" too.

Yeah it's totally real.

"they" also say babies don't get the runs or a fever from teething.
"they" are full of it.

She's totally smiling, so is mine.

I know my baby is smiling at me right back and he's only 13 days today.
I don't know why people say they don't smile yet!!!!
Like the neck thing, he lays on his tummy and holds his head up and looks around. I'll never believe what people say in those books and stuff anymore

Our boy is definitely smiling at us. In fact, we know exactly what makes him smile and can make him smile "on demand", so to speak.
It started when he was 3 weeks old and we doubted it. But it hasn't stopped...only gotten more regular.
Believe it...I'm sure she is smiling.

My first two did at 2 months, and dd#2 at 3 weeks! My baby smiled once while not asleep, so I'm waiting obsessively for a true one.
