Looking for midwive's log book

The only one I've come across was from ACNM website. I was looking for something, um, prettier . I may just have to make my own, but I can't find a good template and I'm horrible at figuring out computer programs to help me make one. Anyone have a good link?

Eh, if you have Excel or something like that you can make a log on a spreadsheet. It's pretty easy. PM me with your email address and I can email you a copy of one I made for someone else and then you can modify it. I never got around to using it myself.

I use the ACNM log book, except I have renamed some of the column to be more useful to me. You're right that it's not particularly pretty, but it's a good format for recording a large amount of information. To me that's what a log is for.

I also have a journal that has the names, dates, other special information and a photo if I have one.

What kinds of information are you wanting to record? If you want something a log book to record a lot of information in one handy place that's easy to review, you just need to go with something practical. If you want something to look pretty when you look back on it it, you need to limit your information into a format that can manipulate into something attractive.

Thanks Kris, I'll pm you.

Nashvillemd, I guess what I really want is to make my own cover and binding for a plain sort of log book that will give specifics such as name, date, length of labor, gravida/para,etc. I would love to write in a journal, but I just never do. I often think about it as I am drifting off to sleep after a birth, but...

There are two really nice ones at www.birthwithlove.com
I got another one through www.inhishands.com but it is much smaller and doesn't allow you to record as much. The new one I have is perfect and with a beautiful cover.

I use one from First Breath Productions called "Into My Hands." It was given to me as a gift by my preceptor, but I have an order form as well.

The cost of the book is $32 + shipping. Try emailing patricia.edmonds@pcc.edu for more information. She is the midwife who created this "birth record book for midwives."
