Ok so now that my machine works, why won't the needle stay threaded?!

The top thread keeps bunching up and sliding right out of the needle. I was told by someone at JoAnn's that the problem is the fabric I was trying to work with and I needed to use a sharper needle and thread lubricant. I'm currently replacing the elastic in my BG 1.0's, and I guess the combination of the microfiber and vinyl requires a sharp needle. I haven't tried the lubricant yet, so we'll see what happens tommorrow. I know for a fact that yes the needle is threaded correctly, there's no other problems that I can see.
All I want to do is start sewing and fix my diapers! All these hassles!!! Why didn't someone tell me there would be so many kinks to work out when you start sewing??!?!

is it happening midseam or just at the beginning... you say bunching up so I'm guessing probably not what I may be thinking but I'll try... maybe....

if the needle comes unthreaded as you start to sew then you need to leave a longer tail of thread out the back of the machine before you start to sew, can hold the tail too for the first little bit also to keep them locked more into place.

there are kinks in sewing, and a bunch of tangles too!

Besides the above suggestions try using a higher tension. When I first started using elastic I was fustrated with the bunching of the thread until I discovered the highest tension(7) solved my problem.
