Check-In 1/8

Thread Starter
I thought I'd post this now since I don't know how much I'll be online today.
42+3 today, woke up at 5:15 with a doozy of a contraction (I am sure I'll look back at these early ones as far from being "doozies" in a few hours, but humor me for now ). They've been coming pretty regularly for the last hour (every 5-7 minutes), close enough together to make sleep pretty much impossible. Also saw a healthy amount of mucous when I went to the bathroom, and have had loose stools. Is this it, dear ladies? It sure feels like it!

Two questions for all you more experienced moms: Is it scary or normal that the tp is stained a little pink when I wipe? And, should I be able to feel baby move between ctx? I always could before when they were much farther apart, but now I'm not sure. :

Wish me luck!

Checking in at 41+3. Prodromal labor is making me tired and cranky, but at least it feels like something is happening...

PGinthe612:
Pink tp is TOTALLY normal, and feeling the baby I think depends on the baby. If this is really it your baby may be saving its energy stores for the hard work ahead.

Both of my kids didn't move too much during labor, but my DD started kicking her way out when she was crowing (weird sensation, I tell ya).

As long as the heart tones are good, baby is good.

Best of luck (LUCKY!)

Woo-Hoo! I am quivering with excitement for you! Being part of a DDC is soooo amazing--if there's anything possibly MORE exciting than expecting and welcoming my own babe, it is getting to prolong that joy and utter bliss by vicariously expecting and welcoming everyone else's babe also! : :

FWIW, with all my babies, once "real" labor had started, I never felt actual fetal movement. I know they *did* move, because they all started out posterior and did some major shifting before the birth, but I never felt anything but the contractions. And I agree that it's very normal for the babies to be just generally a lot less wiggly during birth, weird as that sounds. They are working hard too, and my guess is that they want to rest and chill between ctx just like we do!

Good Luck, Mama, and many many blessings!

I'm here! 42wks 3days.
Baby is still inhabiting the womb, yesterday was quite crazy - even filled up the pool, which turned into a lot of fun for my DS.

They started to slow down in intensity around 12, and I fell asleep around 1am. Woke up around noon - so one hell of a night of sleep. I was quite drugged out from the euphoric hormones, but still surprised I slept so long.
I made 'progress', baby is lower. I guess we'll see.

Oh yes - and I wrote to my aunt after a particularly stressful meeting with my mother yesterday (scaremongering, dead baby card was pulled.) Turns out, my cousin was born very healthy at 45wks. (Early 70's, so I expect the due date was wrong by up to a few weeks - but still... Its reassuring. My mothers a smoker, so I can't rely on her gestational history.)

I'm still here, still no signs of action. I am booked for an induction next Tuesday now but still hoping to do things naturally and at home....sending happy labour vibes to you all!
