Has Anyone Written To Tlc About bRINGING HOME BABY? We Should Start A Letter Writing Campaign And Suggest That They Adopt A Policy. Any Suggestions?

All those shows like A Baby Story, and BHB, Birth Day, etc. usually infuriate me beyond belief. But every once in a while they actually have crunchy/ap moms and dads...but it's very rare.

I have written in the past, especially for the continuance of House of Babies (forgot which channel that's on), but instead I just don't watch and that keeps me a bit more sane...

from what little i have watched these TLC shows most of them depict new moms bottlefeeding. it just angers me so much that i cant watch them. then there is the show "surviving motherhood", i forget what channel, but there was this episode where they featured a single, african-american mom who felt like she "should" wean her 15 month old baby. of course then comes a pediatrician who states that there are other ways to get comfort for a baby at this age, the mom is partly doing it for herself, blah, blah... oh yeah i also saw a "super nanny" show where she made another african-american mom wean her daughter who was only just 1 year old. its so sad to me, these shows, especially that they will show a mom who is not white nursing and then they will tell her to stop!!! women of color already have lkower breastfeeding initiation rates in this country and then shows like these pomote the whole "breastfeeding is for selfish moms and babies dont really need it" bs. arg. but aparently people like these shows because they remain on air.

those shows tick me off. DH even gets all riled up about them.

BUT, the last few I have seen, they have actually brought in a PP Doula and or a LC...

I have seen 2 really good episodes, though (because of the parents, not the show). One was a celeb mom who had twins and was BFing and CDing.

Last one I saw a few weeks ago, the woman had her placenta put into capsules and was taking them with meals! :
