I am new to the boards and have loved reading through all of the posts. I have been an L&D RN for 15 years and currently split my time between bedside nursing and staff education. I am also in school for my masters and CNM/WHNP. My DH and I have six great kiddos, aged 14 to 4. I have found the last few years at the bedside increasingly difficult as the epidural and C/S rates have risen! I am only kept going by the occasional non-medicated labor and birth, and so aren't the majority of my fellow nurses. We love labor and birth and we are beginning to feel like day-surgery nurses. I wish there was a mass education of women with lots of funding about what they are looking for and agreeing to and the consequences of it.
