Names Check-in - Page 2

We have been calling our baby "baby V"
If it is a girl we will name her Vincenza Macy or Rose. Haven't really decided on a middle name yet. She will be called Vincie. I will probably skip the full name on most registrations and whatnot and use Vincie because people have a hard time pronouncing Vincenza even right after you say it to them.
It was my grandmothers name and my middle name. I was considering officially naming her vincie, but dh didn't go for that. I have to admit I am going back and forth a little bit because the name is such a mouthful! Vincie is really cute though............

If baby is a boy he will be either Vincent or Vincenzo Joseph and he will be called either Vince or Vinnie. Joseph is dh grandfathers name. He would like to use it as a first name and calll the boy Joey, but I am not crazy about that.

I am thinking pink!!!

My DH finally came up with one and for that reason alone I thought our DD was named. But the more I think about it, I'm unsure.
He came up with Leela (Lee is my mom's middle name so I liked it for that too)
I still like:
Maya
Eva
Adia
Zella
Bella

Our little girl will be Kaia Shaye. In our families we name after people who have passed away using the first letter of their name. So, her first name is after my grandmother and middle name after dh's grandmother.

We are having a boy, and are still nameless....We have a few we are considering, but I can't seem to decide. I had both the girls names picked out by this time, but boy names have been harder for us.

Next...
I guarantee we would have this problem so our solution is to not say the name till the birth. That way we dont get their opinions.

There are some really pretty names on this thread! watermama05...I LOVE the name Harper!!

We have had names picked out for a long time now but we're keeping them under wraps until s/he is here.

I'm having a boy-DH has wanted 'Rodney' after his grandfather and good friend, I don't like it. Sure, I said I did when I was sure I was having a girl...But I'm not so-moving on! The name Layne came to me, and it felt right, like that was his name and there was no question in my mind (and I was going through ALOT of names that I would normally like). It's not a name that I would normally be attracted to-but I think that is just his name. we used lots of middle names for Ava (Ava Anne Marie Alexandra Jean), I figured we would only have one child so I wanted to get all the grandparents/greats covered in one shot. Middle names for him include: Jefferon (dd came up with that) Michael James Timothy Rodney Vincent or Allen, and anything else I can drum up

My maiden name is Carlin. We have contemplated using it as a middle name. Leah Karlin is pretty.

As for us, we have lists of names we like, no names picked out for sure. We'll wait until we meet this LO before deciding, I'm sure. That's "our" way. We really have to meet our babies before naming them.

I really love the names I've read on this thread!

We're fairly settled on Kaiden Zen

DD#1 was a bit of a .... well, we nicknamed her "Princess Screamy" : because if she was awake, she was screaming. We're hoping this little guy will be a little more chilled, so Zen as a middle name may 'encourage' that (, I know). Or it may just end up being ironic and funny

DD insists that his name is Fred though

I am having a lil Declan Shean. we may call him Dex.
We're 75% sure our LO is a girl, in which case she'll be Lauren Elethea or Lauren Philippa. Lauren - my mom's name, and she was named after her dad. Elethea - a Greek goddess of childbirth. Philippa - DH's and my professor/advisor in college.

If she's a boy, he'll be John Erik. John - DH's maternal grandfather. Erik - DH's name. Boring, I know, but it was the only one we could agree on at all

Here's hoping for a girl!

Karlin is DH's grandmother's maiden name. We it. We try to do family names as much as possible...

Her older brother is Jacob Aaron... I'm getting so excited about mothering 2!

Robin was always intended to just be her fetal nickname. I've grown really fond of it, and it was intentionally gender-neutral, so we could use it if he's a boy, too. But DH has this phobia about using the baby's "real" name before she's born, so I don't think he'd really be cool with naming her that for real. We may continue to use it as a nickname.

It's funny, though, I already differentiate between the two names in my head. When I think about her inside me in the present, she's Robin (ie; "Wow! Robin is kicking hard today!"). But when I think of her outside me in the future, she's Lauren (ie; "Next Christmas, Lauren will be starting to toddle around!").

I forgot to add: our group has awesome names!! You all have picked some really beautiful and meaningful ones Way to go, March DDC!

I love the names Gretel and Bodhi Grayson

Our little girl's name is Evelyn with the nickname Evie. I love Evelyn Rose, but we can't decide if we want a middle name. Neither older kid has a middle name and we actually dropped dd's middle name when we adopted her. Since we have a hyphenated last name, it just made sense. But I so love the way Evelyn Rose sounds...

We finally got to "toss out" the boys name list...

I wasn't too worried about not having a name picked out, until I ended up here in the hospital with PROM and may have a babe any day now!!!! Suddenly it become a little more urgent to decide!

I like so many names, both my girls have 3 names PLUS two last names... it's somewhat comical.

The issue I'm having now is that I can't decide which ORDER the names we have sound best in:

iara ember halcyon (iara is pronounced yara)
ember iara halcyon

I THINK iara ember halcyon rolls off the tongue better, but she will most likely be called ember... for some reason I take issue with giving a first name that isn't actually USED for the first name... some kind of weird peeve of mine that I hope I get over...

We aren't 100% sure though, because I really want to look my baby in the face before I make the commitment...

Our boy names were, still unmatched with first and middles:
Felix
Linus
Baron
Ember (we really like this name)

I'm kind of funny too, we have told NO ONE any of these names... you mamas get the first sneek peek My family always hates my "weird names" that I choose for my kids, so I don't even bother saying them out loud until they are on paper. lol.

We keep our names a secret until the baby gets here, but it's been fun reading all of the others. Our boy name has shown up in this thread
post #39 of 67
She's Ayla Rose, has been since about two months after dd1 was born. If for some reason she turns out to be a boy, she'll be Cooper Reid.

Nameless here, but I love Harper. And Kaia, although I have a personal association with it that I couldn't get over enough to use. And no girls.

Even when we do decide, we won't share until after the birth. But I'm pretty sure that we won't agree on anything until after the birth anyway, at the rate we're going!
