What monster could do such a thing to another human being?

I wish there was a way we could have been more of a support to her. There was no indication she was having trouble with him in her previous posts. Except one small line in an early thread was a flag.

I wonder if there is a way we at MDC could help moms in situations like this?

I looked through her past post too. There really weren't any major red flags. I think the only thing we can do in situations like this is to constantly model gentle and fierce love for one another. For some mamas this may be the only place they can come with problems like domestic abuse. I would like to think we look like a safe place to talk about abusive relationships of all kinds. A resource page in Parents as Partners might be a good place to compile list of helpful links, maybe even list them by state. It's just such a sad situation

Oh how terrible. Those poor children.

My heart goes out to them and the families.

Just FYI, I read that along with the 2 young children, Theresa and her husband were raising his 11yo DD from a previous marriage.

I'm especially keeping that young girl in my heart right now, since I'm thinking that she won't be getting as much sympathy as the other two. Although losing your stepmother at the hands of your father can't be any easier than losing a birth parent, yk?

Oh how awful :

It's so tragic. I can only imagine the pain and trauma she and her poor little ones must have had to endure in the months and years leading up to this horrible end. And her 11yo step daughter must feel so tormented. I hope they all can find peace.

A few news links to share...New story #1 & News story #2

I should have written that he allegedly murdered Theresa, and I apologize for not having done that. I didn't mean to violate the UA; I was just a little shaken up when I posted the story.

Also, I second the PP's statement about the 11yo stepdaughter. What a tragedy for all involved. Thank god the toddler was left unharmed!

They have her husband, Robert Cole, in custody for the murder. According to this news site; his bond has been set at $4 million. I hope that whomever it was that did this; is dealt with to the maximum extent of the law.

Dear Lord that is horrifying. I feel so horrible for her family.

Oh my gosh... how AWFUL for them all! Hopefully they all get the support and healing they need. That will be my prayer, that they heal, somehow. I'm sure this mama would have wanted the children to be whole and as happy as possible....

It's really a miracle he didn't harm that baby!!

This is so horrible and sad....I am so sorry.

Oh my goodness...how terrifying There are often no outward warning signs and many women aren't comfortable sharing intimate details of abuse (especially if it hasn't gotten physical...yet). I'm praying for those kids tonight.

I cant believe this...

What can we do to find out mommas here who may be in danger?

How can we reach out?

Poor momma, the fear and the pain she must have experienced.
Her and her baby are safe now.
