Baby sling and bamboo?

I will be making a pouch type sling for the little one on the way and would love to use bamboo fabric. Anyone have any insight on how well it will stand up to lots of use? I'd like to know before I shell out the $$$! Thanks!

isn't bamboo kind of slippery to the touch? if it is, it would make me kind of nervous using it as a baby sling. I almost lost baby girl once out of a too-slippery polar fleece sling when I had to take both hands off of her, so maybe I'm just paranoid. . .

Well, yes I was going to line it with something. I just thought someone might have experience working with this fabric. I want something that will last a few years and still look nice, hold up to a 30# toddler if need be.

Have you tried asking in the babywearing forum?

Jan Andrea has really great baby items. Maybe you can find something there.
