Have you all read or seen this book yet? It looks interesting.

Well, as long as y'all are all here on MDC, what do you think about my homeschooling question about seeking fun and joyful unit studies or curriculums for homeschool? http://www.mothering.com/discussions...d.php?t=824606

I could really use your help. I'm thinking about doing some stuff with the upcoming presidential elections.

Devon!

Scratch the chocolate idea. Someone that joined years ago and never posts already has that one in use!

TM, I was thinking about your homeschooling question today, and planning my response! Are you looking to plan your own thing, or are you looking for something 'out-of-the-box'? Maybe I should just go check the thread you linked to there!

I always wondered about that but never remembered to ask!

I love this!!!

Grrr... that's why I'm *Devon*... Devon was already taken by someone who never posts. I like the *'s though, it makes it look sparkly

You ladies were BUSY tonight!!! I miss chat but it will be back soon!!

Yeah, where is AV?? Is she on MDC?? Let's go find her!
Yeah, I think I'd rather be *Devon* than Phosphorous.
Hey look at all the chatter!

I'm home from shopping and exhausted. I don't know HOW I'll drag myself back to work tonight. I know I sound like a broken record, but I really have to quit my job. I'm getting some strong vibes from the Universe that it's just meant to be. Latest piece of evidence: Lost starts Thursday, Jan 31 @10pm. I'm scheduled to work that day/time!

TM, if I understand it all correctly, one of your main motivations right now is finding something that looks a bit like school to help with your family's comfort level. Is that accurate?

If I were in that situation, I think I'd buy Oak Meadow. My understanding, based on what I've seen/read, is that it's a gentle program, inspired by Waldorf but a little more academic than a traditional Waldorf curricula would be for the early ages. I think it also clearly outlines what to do when, so there's structure for the parent as well.

Taradactyl-
:
Sorry you are having a tough day! I have certainly been there, sometimes those days where you get dragged around are for realizing that you can just stay home the next time (hopefully tomorrow!)

This has awakened me to my internet addiction too!

AV is here on MDC, but that's not her username here. She adopted that one new for WWoW.

We haven't lost our touch!
(anybody else missing our dancing whoo-hoo smiley?)

This is almost like chat, Carrie, at the speed we are going!

And Hillary, I bet you can hit 1000! post, woman, post!

I have to do a little appreciating of my dh this evening! For one thing, when we spoke on the phone earlier, and I told him I'd bought clothes, but after all, I had sent some of what we'd ordered as a birthday present back, he said "I don't mind you buying clothes if you need clothes." and didn't ask what I spent or anything. Also, he stopped at the Trader Joe's on his way home, and I asked him to get a couple jars of their Masala sauce, so I can cook chick peas the way ds loves them. When he came home with 3 jars of it he said "I had to re-face an entire shelf to get your sauce for you." Ahh, my former co-op manager, re-arranging another store's shelf of items.
