I have a hotsling and an ergo carrier. Ds hates being scrunched in the hotsling, and the ergo carrier is not easy or practical with the infant insert. I think it'll be great when he's a little bigger though. I'm too lazy to make my own wrap, so yesterday I ordered a Moby wrap. I hope we both like it because I'm going crazy not being able to put him down.

i LOVE OUR MOBY BUT HATE THE TIME IT TAKES TO PUT IT ON AND MY STRAPS GET TWISTED A LOT MAKING IT A ( opps hit the caps lock key)! uncomfortable, Ds doesnt care for the hotsling and I also have a wiswoman ring sling but havent tried that one yet- i hated it w/ DD so I'm wondering if I should try it again I cant wait to back carry in my ergo so I can get a lot more done!

i forked out for the infant support pillow b/c i have the same problem (also my RS sometimes) and end up wasting a hand to prop up her back. the pillow helped, but is fiddly. the wash-cloths don't really stay/work.

i have made some progress at fine-tuning the RS adjustment in cradle carry to create almost a second 'pocket' for her head that is lower (not as tight)- imagine two hammocks side by side w/ her body lying in one and her head in the adjacent one.

for mamas comfortable w/ring slings, i'd love to see pics of how your babes are laying in them. i feel like kieran is just stuffed in there and is not comfy!
i actually have taken several pics, i'll try to get around to posting.

I haven't done too much with our ring sling yet - she always seems too scrunched up in there. We've been using our Gypsy Mama fleece wrap & love that cause its so warm. We usually end up using a cradle hold and supporting her back with a hand. Haven't figured out how to do the hug hold yet.

I always used a Ring sling with dd and loved it, but it did do a number on my back. I've used it a little this time and Fisher likes it, but it really does hurt my back. I just tried my new Ergo carrier yesterday and we LOVE it. It's so much more comfortable and I found the infant insert to be very easy.

Actually, he fell asleep on me this morning, so I put the Ergo on over him with out the insert and he's quite cozy and still there right now! I love it!

I also have a pocket sling that I made of fleece. It's okay, but not big enough and he tends to go very horizontal.

i figured out the moby nursing thing. so hard to describe

i lifted baby up a little, then put both legs over to one side. i hope that helps. i like that the shoulders spread open to cover boob

also yesterday i managed to shimmy the entire thing off-center and nurse baby without repositioning her.

i love moby on the go because i can put moby on, and then go out for the day. ring sling i have to put it on fresh each time.

i also love my homemade mei tei i have 2 upload the pictures i think i will make another.

i want an ergo... and a becco... i think we should all have a bunch because it's like wearing the same shirt every day when you only have a few carriers.

i'm sick of not wearing my favorite pants because they don't match my baby carrier. not like they fit anyways.

So far we've only tried the KKAFP and Moby (we also have a Gypsy Mama guaze wrap, a solarveil pouch, an onbuhimo, and a Beco). I absolutely love the KKAFP! The Moby, though, I'm just not feeling the love yet. I have only tried it once and it was somewhere where I had to worry about the straps touching the floor, so I think we just need some practice, but when it comes down to it, it's 100x easier to just put him in the pouch than try to learn to use the Moby.

I have my stand-by ring slings, which is all I ever used with my others. I have a couple hotslings, but just don't care for them with newborns. Prolly get more use when she's bigger, because I love to have one that I can leave in the car. She's actually not crazy about the ring sling yet--at least when I'm using it! When dh puts her in it, she snuggles down and practically purrs! I think she's just convinced that if I'm holding her, a boob better be involved, otherwise something is VERY wrong!

My SIL gave me an Ultimate Baby Wrap that someone gave her...it was NIB, and she is way too mainstream to BW, so she gave it to me. It's not the greatest stretchy wrap out there, but it's better than nothing. I have used it a couple times and dd likes it (again, better with dh than with me), but it's too fussy to get on/off and I cannot figure out how to nurse her while in it, unless I went topless, LOL! Honestly, she's still so little and nursing so non-stop that I haven't had much occasion to wear her! We just sit and nurse, and I hold her in-arms otherwise. When she is ready for a longish nap, I have started putting her down (in the crib) so that I can have one-on-one time with my other kids, and also so I can scurry around for a couple minutes trying to restore order to our chaos, LOL!

I think the problem I have with nursing in any kind of sling/wrap/etc. is the shape of my boobs. Rocks in socks. In order for her to nurse without me using a hand to support things, she'd have to be somewhere near the level of my belly button! :

And now you know more about me than you wanted to!

I'm just thankful for bras....they are the great equalizer! They may not make me look exactly perky, but they sure help!

reeeeally... i kind of want to try maya in the ergo w/o the insert. her neck control is awesome - she's been able to hold up her head w/o help since birth and has been getting better and better, although i wouldn't say she has full neck control yet (she's only a month old). maybe i'll try it out and see. i can't figure out how to nurse with the infant insert.

actually i can't nurse while babywearing at all and it ticks me off somethin fierce.

I've had a couple of MTs and an Ergo, but never tried the Ergo with a newb. But my BH has a headrest and I always fold it down. It seems okay so far. Reese has pretty good head control as well.

Out of all the cool babywearing stuff I got my son and I prefer an ugly Slingease RS that I got for a dollar

I love my moby and BH MT! I don't think I'd survive with 2 kids without at least the moby. I don't really like the ring sling for the bitty baby. I'll enjoy the ring sling when he can sit up on his own or control his head.
