to CDers who don't rinse off poop - Page 2

nAk

Toddler poo gets dumped in the toilet, but BF poo just gets thrown in the pail. we do a full wash with a presoak without soap, but with oxyclean and bioclean, then a full wash with Charlie's soap and an extra rinse at the end. All the cotton stuff gets dryed on on high, and the PUL stuff gets hung up. Very little staining, and the sun + lemon juice takes care of those.

hmmm. methinks that it is just gonna be easier to rinse the poop off, do my regular hot wash/cold rinse, and toss in the dryer, so i don't have to pay extra. but i'll see what happens this time w/o the rinsing...

it was awful! we had to pull half the diapers out and rinse off the poo AND do an extra wash cycle. the 2 seconds it takes to blast solids off in the sink are way easier on me.

LOL! I've washed diapers in a laundromat a few times (on trips and when our old washer was broken) and I can sympathize...seemed like the washers never worked as well as I expected them to. I looooooove having my own!

In your shoes, I think what I'd do is dump them all into the bathtub, put on some rubber gloves, run hot water on them, swish them around, squeeze them out and then take themto the laundry room. For me, it would be easier to do it all at once that way, rather than the extra step at each change. But hey, you've already got a system that works, so why mess with it?

WRT stains, all my diapers are so old that I don't even notice. Seriously, they've all been through at least 3 kids before dd2, and a considerable portion of my stash was passed down from a friend who used them with her 2 girls, too! Stains, schmains! just not a big deal anymore, IMO. But the sun does work wonders on stains, so don't give up!

there's a big basin in the laundry room that i used for this purpose once. i think it's a timing thing. i'd rather spend an extra few seconds at each poo change than a few minutes before laundry time. but i do change her right by the sink and blast the poo off and toss it into the laubdry bag just next to the sink and tgen wash my hands. woew im typing awesomely

i'm really lazy about laundry & did my first diaper load today and they came out perfect without removing poop. i used that Bac-Out in a cold wash first then a hot wash w/ reg detergent. that bac-out is awesome, you can put it on any stain and it just dissolves it
